Even though Dodd seemed to be alluding to 'RHOC' losing its sheen in the light of her absence from the show, fans were feeling otherwise

Kelly Dodd may no longer be a part of bravo's hit 'Real Housewives of Orange County' franchise, but that doesn't mean that this ex-housewife has left behind her days of drama. The 'RHOC' alum took to her Twitter on Tuesday (December 28, 2021) to openly question the show's poor ratings in the wake of the major reboot it has undergone.

The former housewife addressed her scathing tweet at the Executive Producer Andy Cohen. She wrote, "Wait, wasn’t I the ratings problem ? Wasn’t there a boycott ?? We got over a million viewers 14 out of 16 weeks last season despite HUGE competition from election coverage on the news !!! This year ? #RHOC16 under a million 3x in 4 weeks ! Hey @Andy
How’s that reboot going ???" She also attached a tweet of the show's ratings for the recently aired episode 4, which read, "#RHOC S016E04 — 0.24 demo (P18-49) / 822,000 viewers."

Cohen didn't hold back when he finally decided to reply to Dodd's tweet. He assured her that the reboot was going "great" and also dropped in a brief explainer on how the ratings work by sharing that the episode's delayed numbers too needed to be taken into consideration aside from the live numbers. He tweeted, "Good morning! Reboot going great. Feels like a return to form for #RHOC. Look at the delayed numbers, not live. That’s what’s measured."

Dodd and two other housewives Braunwyn Windham Burke and Elizabeth Lyn Vargas were let go off from the show after season 15. The showrunners gave the OG housewives franchise a major casting overhaul in order to bring "class" back to the show. They roped in former housewife Heather Dubrow to return for season 16 alongside newbies Noella Bergener and Dr Jen Armstrong. The previous season of 'RHOC' ended with outraged fans demanding Dodd and Braunwyn's firing, owing to their controversial storylines on the show, and Dodd's extremely inappropriate and insensitive remarks about the COVID-19 pandemic.

Even though Dodd seemed to be alluding to 'RHOC' losing its sheen in the light of her absence from the show, fans were feeling otherwise. Several fans chimed in on Cohen and Dodd's exchange by slamming the former housewife's behavior. A fan shared, "Honey go grab a jug of water cause you sound thirsty as hell.." Another fan replied, "This weird obsession needs to stop. You’re embarrassing yourself more than usual." "All of the HW shows are down in ratings. You seriously need a hobby," commented another fan.

Another fan pointed out, "Why does this come across as the jilted girlfriend texting her ex “do you miss me yet?” This is sad to watch for the public to see." "You were mostly definitely the problem. And that you’re still so obsessed about it, speaks volumes about you," added a fan. "Yes you were the problem!! So much better now, it will take time to rebuild the loss that you caused but the new show is great. Hope people give it another chance!" seconded a fan.

Despite the clap back she received, Dodd didn't back down. In another tweet, she declared that she knew how ratings worked and demanded Cohen to add delayed numbers to season 15's ratings as well. "No one needs to explain ratings to me. I know how they work.I compared RHOC15’s overnights to RHOC16’s. We got more viewers every week so far. If Andy wants to add delayed views to boost his numbers he needs to add those to Season 15 too. Bet we still win @PageSix #spin #facts."

'Real Housewives of Orange County' Season 16 airs every Wednesday at 9/8c on Bravo.
