Kayleigh McEnany takes jab at 'circle back' Jen Psaki, says she always knew where Trump stood as he gave her access

Former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany took a dig at her successor Jen Psaki on Thursday, March 4, saying she never needed a "ton of circling back" with reporters because of the access she was given by former president Donald Trump. The remarks were made in reference to Psaki's alleged go-to line when she cannot directly answer questions.

McEnany's comments were part of a 'Fox & Friends' segment and came after a montage of Psaki saying she would "circle back" to several reporters in her six weeks of service as Joe Biden administration's press secretary. The former press secretary said she always had the advantage of knowing exactly where Trump stood on issues.

"I wish Jen Psaki all the best, it is a very hard job but that being said, we took great pains in our administration to do hours and hours of research beforehand, days sometimes," McEnany said when she appeared on the segment. "I always knew where my boss stood. Unlike other press secretaries who maybe didn't have walk-in privileges, I could walk in at any time... I always knew where his head was at, so I didn't have to do a ton of circling back because President Trump gave a lot of access to me."

Psaki has held daily press conferences in her time, a practice that the Trump White House eschewed from during McEnany's term, although those working for him always touted his supposed openness with the press. McEnany, however, also took a dig at Biden for staying in the "basement" and avoiding press questions, in reference to the sitting president not holding a solo press conference for 44 days at a stretch, something that's a record for modern presidents. "It's exactly like the campaign. That was his strategy all along," said McEnany, a new Fox News analyst.

"Hide in the basement, don't talk to the American people... That's what President Trump offered. He gave transparency. He was always willing to take questions, always willing to go to the podium, always willing to stop on his way to the helicopter. Transparency is what he offered, and Joe Biden vowed transparency. Now he's set a 100-year record for not going to the podium (sic)."

As soon as McEnany's jabs made it to social media, the platform came raining down with snide remarks, as a user noted, "LOL: Jen Psaki pushes truth and reality, BS-Barby (Kayleigh McEnany) cannot tell the truth. Psaki wins, hands down." Speaking about how McEnany could potentially obliterate Psaki, another user wrote, "That will never happen. I’m so glad you’re out of the WH, Jen Psaki is a million times better at her job than you were."

One user was however of the opinion that McEnany "would Anahilate her! Jen would probably have to "circle back" on everything starting from the greeting." Another slammed the current White House Press Secretary saying, "Jen Psaki is so stupid, when she was at State the Russian people coined the term "Psaki-unit" as the smallest unit of brain power. For reference, a clam has 3 Psaki-units of brain power. Kayleigh McEnany would eat her alive." Another pointed out "The only thing I’d like to see more than Kayleigh McEnany destroying Jen Psaki on Fox, is to see Candace Owens get a shot at her first." One said, "Kayleigh McEnany Jabs Jen Psaki: I Never Had To 'Circle Back' - The Political Insider You don’t have to circle back when you can LIE on the spot & make up new horse shit with speed talking proficiency. Only skill McEnany ever mastered."
