Bronx rapper Kay Flock has been arrested for the alleged murder of a 24-year-old man over some tiff with him. According to the official Twitter handle of DJ Akademiks, 18-year-old Kay Flock reportedly killed the individual outside a barbershop on December 16. NYPD also shared about the homicide along with a blurred screenshot retrieved from surveillance footage. The young rapper, known for his hit track 'Brotherly Love', was nabbed by the cops on December 24.

Kay Flock, whose real name is Kay Roy, is a native of Maryland but attained fame as a budding hip-hop artist in New York. In fact, he often refers to himself as a 'King of Bronx'. He had performed with the popular rap group Thraxxx, as well as other noted rappers like Lizzle, Freakshow, and Boogie Snow. More shockingly, many reports claim him to be a cousin of slain rapper Dthang, who also happened to be celebrity rapper Lil Durk's brother. Let us find out more about his family background and connection with Lil Durk

In early 2020, Kay Flock was reportedly in juvenile detention. He shot to fame with his song on the instrumental for 22Gz's ‘Blixky Gang Freestyle’. He then dropped songs like ‘Opp Spotter’ with his childhood friend B-Lovee, ‘Brotherly Love’, ‘PSA’, ‘Being Honest’ and ‘Is Ya Ready’ among a few others. Flock dropped his debut project in November 2021 called ‘The D.O.A. Tape’ where he managed to tap G Herbo on the remix of ‘Being Honest’. He was also featured on Lil Tjay's single, ‘Not In The Mood’ featuring Fivio Foreign that peaked at number 61 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking his first time on the chart.

Kay Flock apparently had a longstanding beef with rapper DThang before his tragic death. More importantly, Dthang was Flock's cousin and they were related by blood. In November 2021, Kay Flock released a video of him freestyling while listening to DThang's track 'On The Radar'. However, many older videos on hip-hop special YouTube channels explain in detail the rumored beef between the two cousins.

DThang was tragically shot and killed in Chicago on June 6, 2021, when he was 32 years old. He was the brother of 'Laugh Now Cry Later' hitmaker Lil Durk (born Durk Derrick Banks) and his real name was Dontay Banks Jr. DThang was found dead in S. Loomis Blvd in Cook County, Chicago.

There is, however, no report directly relating Lil Durk with Kay Flock.

As for Kay Flock's latest homicide charges, it appears that he got into an argument with the victim after spotting him at a barbershop. They both then got out of the shop where Flock lost his cool and ended up pulling a gun. According to reports, he shot the victim in the neck and the back. He was reportedly wearing a mask at the time of the shooting. The official Twitter account of NYPD had also released a “WANTED” poster for the rapper before he was finally nabbed in which they cited him as the perpetrator in the probable cause of arrest.
