MADEIRA, PORTUGAL: The sister of Cristiano Ronaldo has been receiving criticisms online after she reportedly trashed the 2022 FIFA World Cup and also ignored Lionel Messi while congratulating Argentina for the win. Katia Aveiro took to her now-disappeared Instagram Story to express her views against this year’s tournament, which saw her brother and his team getting eliminated in the quarter-finals.
The 45-year-old reportedly shared, “The worst World Cup of all time... that thankfully gave us a great final. What a match. Congratulations to Argentina,” before praising French footballer Kylian Mbappé Lottin as she asserted, “Kylian Mbappe. This boy is unreal. What a bright future awaits you. Incredible.”

Not just that, Aveiro also publicly hailed her 37-year-old brother as she noted, “you don't need to prove anything anymore,” after reports claimed that the Portugal national team’s captain was planning to leave the series following some tense situations post-game, The Daily Mail reported. In a post dedicated to Ronaldo, the woman wrote, “Glad your character and dignity don't leave you. I feel sorry for people who live chin up pointing fingers like they built more than you.”
She continued, “There are people who are like this: weak, untrue (I don't even know if this word exists) but I'm not worried about it at all, there are people who live in the shadow, who live on the facade, who live in silence, are hypocritically ungrateful even to themselves, today in di watching someone pose, be brave, be safe is criticized, people drown in their own illusion, many of them live to see others walk, even the Ground itself is afraid to step on, because they are afraid to fall, poor people, in fact, it is not less, nor more than anyone who is bad L but it is bigger who is it for real.”
