Justice Clarence Thomas has inadvertently found himself in the middle of a major conspiracy theory, thanks to his wife Ginni Thomas. On March 24, it was revealed Ginni sent over two dozen texts to former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows to push for the 2020 Presidential Election results to be overturned. The revelation has now forced internet users to ask - just how much did the Justice know?

The scandal has only worsened since the Supreme Court confirmed that Thomas has been hospitalized since March 18. The court did not detail why, or where Thomas was being treated, but simply noted he had "flu-like symptoms."  The George HW Bush appointee has long been seen as a major roadblock for liberal activists, who have been calling for him to retire for months now.

Those calls have only increased in the aftermath of the revelation of the link between Ginni and Meadows. To make matters worse, it has also now birthed a conspiracy theory about Thomas' health, as internet users are wondering if there's a reason he was hospitalized just days before the texts were revealed.

Is Clarence Thomas really unwell?

On March 20, the SCOTUS confirmed Thomas was being treated, but never acknowledged what the issue was, or where he was being treated. Four days later, The Washington Post broke the story that Ginni texted Meadows 29 times over the course of a few weeks following the results of the 2020 Presidential Election. "Help This Great President stand firm, Mark!!" she texted on November 10, just one example that was revealed by The Post.

The texts were amongst the over 2,000 Meadows provided to the January 6 Select Committee but were not made public knowledge until March 24. Both Ginni and her husband have not responded to requests for comment from the press, further adding to the mystery. In a past article though, Ginni attempted to shield her husband from her activism, writing, "Clarence doesn’t discuss his work with me, and I don’t involve him in my work."

However, the internet could simply not believe that the Justice had no knowledge of his wife's activism. The revelation led the internet to comment things like "The timing of Clarence Thomas's hospital visit is very suspicious given the recent bombshell reporting," and "Maybe that's why Clarence Thomas is in the hospital. He got wind of the fact that the January 6th Committee had text messages between Ginni Thomas and Mark Meadows and was just sick about it." Another user noted, "Complete coincidence that Clarence Thomas was the SOLE no vote on releasing Jan 6 WH communications."

"Clarence Thomas needs to be investigated immediately," tweeted Brian Tyler Cohen's show 'No Lie'.  Another person said, "The Supreme Court absolutely should disclose whether Clarence Thomas is still in the hospital. Of course the public has a right to know…he is missing Supreme Court arguments." A third tweeted, "Clarence Thomas is ill. He will resign from the Court for health reasons in the hopes that an investigation into him and his wife will cease. It won’t work. That’s my take." One user asked, "Is the Supreme Court not answering questions about Clarence Thomas because of health issues or legal issues?"

The theory has only gained steam since the court has refused to issue an update on Thomas' health since its original confirmation he was unwell. That means we have no clue if he really is unwell or not, but it appears the internet has already determined that he isn't.
