WILLIAMSON COUNTY, ILLINOIS: A woman has been found guilty of taking the life of her stepdaughter while her father was away. As per reports, Julia Elaine Bevely stabbed 11-year-old Jade Marie Beasley multiple times and left her to die in a bathtub in December 2020. At the time of the crime, the girl’s father was at work.

The 31-year-old killer was convicted on three counts of first-degree murder after nearly two hours of deliberation by the jurors on Wednesday, February 15, WSIL TV reported. Currently, she has been placed at the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office as her sentencing will happen on June 2.

Julia Elaine Bevely's fake story

As per earlier reports, it was Julia herself who made a call to 911 after stabbing Jade, which left her in a pool of blood, on December 5, 2020. At the time, she told the cops that when she came to the house, in which she lived with the child’s father, she discovered the lifeless body of Jade and also found an unidentified person leaving the place, as reported by WSPD Local 6.

But eventually, the investigators learned that Julia was the real culprit and she made up the story to save herself. During the trial, Patrol Sgt. Aaron Anderson of the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office reportedly said of the crime scene, “I have never seen that much blood in my 13-year career.”

‘Funny, smart, and sassy’

Meanwhile, the deceased child’s obituary has been filled with numerous adjectives describing her. It said, “Marion- Jade Marie Beasley, age 11, of Marion, passed from this life on to her Heavenly home on Saturday, December 5, 2020. The daughter of Jessica Marie (Mandrell) Bradley and Gregory Michael Beasley, Jade was born in Marion on August 3, 2009.  She was a sixth grader at Marion Junior High School.”

The eulogy also noted that Jade was a “funny, smart, and sassy” child who “liked playing outside and swimming. She enjoyed art, drawing, painting, and playing video games. Jade loved her friends, adored her pets, and cherished her siblings.”

“Private funeral services for Jade’s family and friends will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, December 11, 2020, at the Marion First Baptist Church. Dr. Bob Dickerson will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Marion First Baptist Church. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with final arrangements,” it concluded.

Julia’s conviction comes when the whole of the nation is hooked to the Lindsay Clancy case, a mother who allegedly killed her three children before trying to end her life as well. Currently, at the hospital, Lindsay is believed to be suffering from postpartum psychosis, which resulted in the drastic step she took on January 24.

The 32-year-old mother fatally attacked her five-year-old daughter Cora, 3-year-old son Dawson, and 7-month-old Callan when her husband, Patrick, was not home. Though prosecutors have alleged that she intentionally murdered the little ones, Patrick thinks otherwise.

The devastated husband has reportedly called Lindsay “generously loving and caring towards everyone.” He added, “I took so much pride in being Lindsay’s husband and a dad to Cora, Dawson, and Callan. I always reminded myself that each day with them was a new gift. We always started our days together, reading books, cuddling up on the couch, and playing with magnet tiles.”
