John Cornyn says ex-colleague of Hunter Biden’s lawyer got top DOJ post, Internet asks ‘What was Ivanka's Job?’
Texas Sen. John Cornyn took to Twitter to share the news that Nicholas McQuaid is named acting leader of the U.S. Justice Department’s criminal division. His tweet was heavily slammed by several as he did not say anything when former President Donald Trump brought his daughter and son-in-law in the White House. Cornyn, 68, is a politician and attorney serving as the senior United States Senator for Texas since 2002. He was also the Republican Senate Majority Whip for the 114th and 115h Congresses. Cornyn has extremely vocal statements on several issues, including abortion, civil rights, and national security.
The Texas-born attorney voted against expanding federal funding for stem cell research that utilized human embryonic stem cells. He instead pushed for several other alternatives that would use adult and cord blood stem cells for research as it does not harm or destroy human embryos.

By several political advisers, Cornyn has been described as an “immutable Trump ally” as he has constantly praised the former president during most of his presidential term. On multiple occasions, he defended Trump’s decision to siphon resources from the Pentagon to build a wall on the Mexico border. That being said, following the reports that Biden might win the election, Cornyn reportedly started to distance himself from Trump, claiming that he had never supported the president’s maneuver and that he simply opposed it, reports The Dallas Morning News.
Following the news that a former colleague of Hunter Biden’s lawyer gets a top position in the Department of Justice’s criminal division, Cornyn tweeted: “Ex-colleague of Hunter Biden’s lawyer gets top DOJ post”, which reportedly did not sit too well with Biden’s supporters. One user wrote: “Lol. Really man. Ivanka and Jared worked in the White House and directed government contracts to themselves and their friends. Some random guy who worked with a lawyer got a job in Washington? Wow-what a shocker. Trump literally got 5 people killed trying to overthrow America.” Another seconded the voice: “Remember when Bill Barr's actual f***ng son-in-law got hired in the White House Counsel's office? Yeah, you remember. You're just a hypocrite.” A third user wrote: “What did Ivanka, Jared, Jr, and Eric do to deserve Secret Service coverage everywhere they went? And what was Ivanka’s job?” Another wrote: “You are NOT going to go down this road, are you Johnny? Since, clearly you are, and as a result of your selective memory, I’ll happy point out that once again, your hypocrisy is astounding. You just sat silently through 4 years of Nepotism palooza. Jared & Ivanka ring any bells?”

Donald Trump’s family members in the White House:
Trump’s family members remained an integral part of his administration. His children served in some capacity while he was appointed as the 45th president of the United States.
Before the 2016 presidential election, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric held the title of executive vice president at the Trump Organization. During Trump’s first campaign, they all served as surrogates for their father on national news. Following Trump’s victory against Hillary Clinton, Ivanka moved to Washington, D.C., with her husband Jared Kushner, who was appointed to a senior White House advisory position. Meanwhile, Donald Trump Jr. reportedly influenced his father’s choice of Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke during the presidential transition. Trump Jr. was allegedly engaged in overturning the 2020 United States presidential election following his father’s electoral defeat against Biden.
