President Joe Biden's message on Easter to encourage the citizens of the country to get vaccinated amid the pandemic ended on kind of an awkward note when he was seen on national TV telling a life-size Easter Bunny to "squeeze it" on the balcony of the White House on Monday, April 5.

The White House Easter festivities were cut short as the traditional Easter Egg Roll was canceled for the second year in a row due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but two Easter Bunnies still made an appearance at the president's residence. One stopped by the White House briefing room while the other was flanked by Biden and first lady Jill Biden on the White House balcony on Monday as POTUS delivered a speech. The Easter Bunny was seen wearing a face mask to drive the point home of taking precautions during the ongoing crisis.

While conservatives on social media were not happy about the Easter Bunny showing up in public with a face mask, things got weirder when Biden tried to advise the bunny on how to hold a flower that was handed to him by Jill. Biden wrapped up his 40-minute speech by saying, “May God protect our troops, and take care of the Easter bunny," after which he invited the Easter Bunny to join him and Jill for a photo op as they all waved at an empty White House lawn.

At one point, Jill grabbed a flower from the railing decorations and handed it over to the bunny but he couldn’t hold the flower because of his costume paws. Biden chuckled and said, “You gotta squeeze it – you got it man.”

Reactions poured in on social media after the president's awkward exchange with the bunny. "Next stop, Biden will mask all the Disney world characters telling them to squeeze it," one said. Another wrote, "Biden wants to mount the Easter bunny with his white trash hooker wife - white trash White House." One more commented, "We are the laughing stock of the world because of the Bidens." Another remarked, "So the guy in the bunny suit already can't breathe So they put a woke mask across The breathing hole #TheyllDoAnything."

One of them quipped, "This is so ridiculous!! The mask on bunny = 'new normal'? First it was cookies to the grown men & women in the NG. Then hearts on the WH lawn. Now treats from the bunny. Is this Jill's idea of using her pre-k teaching experience? Grandma & pa Biden overseeing the kids?" The next reacted with, "Isn’t the Easter Bunny’s head enough protection so he doesn’t need a mask or did Fauci add that?" A commenter tweeted, "Biden Administration put a mask on the Easter Bunny but let's thousands cross the border without covid testing, shots, or other medical exams! Ridiculous!"
