Joe Biden's approval rating lower than Donald Trump's in 2017, Barack Obama's 67 percent rating still a winner

While Trump had scored a whopping 56 percent, Biden fell short at just 48 percent

According to Rasmussen Reports, Joe Biden’s first-ever job approval rating as president could not beat Donald Trump's approval rating. As Biden's entrance was awarded 48 percent, Trump's exit bagged a whole 51 percent. News of this comes as the country is currently divided on social media over how to feel about FLOTUS Dr. Jill Biden gifting the National Guards with chocolate cookies.

As Dr. Biden thanked the National Guards for their security during the inauguration ceremony, Trump supporters stormed Twitter claiming the Bidens had allegedly sent the guards to a freezing garage after a military photo-op. Twitter was angry and raucous when an update said Trump had welcomed the 'freezing' guards in his Trump Hotel in DC.

As social media debates over the credibility of these developments, it is worth noting that Biden fell short of Trump compared to his approval ratings when he had first taken office in 2017. While Trump had scored a whopping 56 percent, Biden fell short at just 48 percent. Both of course were much behind Barack Obama's 67 percent approval rating back in ’09. Even Trump's disapproval rating was 44 percent, whereas Biden's is 45 percent.

During Trump's time of entering the office, 38 percent strongly approved and 36 percent strongly disapproved. In Biden's case, it's the other way round, only 36 percent strongly approve, while 38 percent strongly disapprove. These ratings also come just two weeks after Trump supporters rioted at the Capitol to stop Congress from declaring Biden as the November presidential election winner. Many had claimed Trump encouraged his supporters to storm the Capitol, and soon most social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram banned the president once the election was called officially.

As Conservatives claim of a biased media, they have argued how the Biden campaign was always paraded without scrutiny. Yet, despite the media's alleged fondness of Biden, the 46th president of the United States fell short of his predecessor. But ahead of Biden's inauguration ceremony, about 68% of Americans reportedly approved of the way he handled the transition into presidency. Reports also claim about four in 10 rated his Cabinet appointments as "outstanding" or "above average." While 57 percent favored Biden, 53 percent favored Kamala Harris.

Still, when Dr. Biden offered the National Guard cookies, the nation was agitated. As reported previously by MEAWW, some joked on Twitter: "In return for making them sleep in a parking garage... Jill Biden gave each national guard troop a single cookie." Some even took the opportunity to call out alleged media bias tweeting: "Jill Biden thinks 2 baskets of cookies for 21,000 troops is a sufficient response to making them needlessly sleep in Parking Garages and contracting covid #TheHeadlineIfBidenWasARepublican". Others felt sorry for the guards 'having to put up with this'. "Imagine being an infantry soldier and having to put up with this shit. Just nothing but standing around all day and then an officer screaming that Jill Biden is coming with cookies everyone get up here NOW," wrote a user.
