'Deep state television clown': Jimmy Kimmel SLAMMED for 'soft' interview with Joe Biden

Netizens slammed the late-night host for being 'soft' with President Biden and asking him easy questions during 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' show

Jimmy Kimmel, host of the late-night show 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!', was slammed by netizens across social media platforms for asking easy questions and being soft on President Joe Biden. It was the president's first in-person appearance on a talk show ever since he took office. Gun reform was a largely discussed subject during the show, in addition to other pressing issues.

Recalling the heart-wrenching tragedy that took place in Uvalde, Texas, one of the first questions Kimmel asked the president was regarding the laws around gun violence. He asked why the president is not taking more executive actions with regard to gun reforms. Moreover, a comment on the number of executive orders by former President Trump was made where he mentioned he does not want to abuse the former president's constitutional authority.

Explaining his point of view and how he operates, Biden said that he has, in fact, issued executive orders but only "within the power of the presidency” when it came to guns. He added, "But what I don’t want to do, and I’m not being facetious, I don’t want to emulate Trump’s abuse of the constitution."

Almost instantly, Kimmel was slammed for being too "soft" with the president. One said on Twitter, "Tough questions my a**."

Another said, "Joe is good for a few laughs with the deep state television clown. That's about all."

"It’s a tough needle to thread, but he has 2.5 years to figure out that it’s not the executive orders that threaten our democracy," said another.

This user said, "I just listened to @POTUS on Jimmy Kimmel for 15 minutes. That man is dumber than all f**king get out. How is that the leader of our country."

Another sarcastically said, "I'm sure Joe Biden will answer ALL THE DIFFICULT QUESTIONS, that have definitely not be pre-prepared for him on Jimmy Kimmel Live!"
