Jim Carrey is reportedly thinking of saying goodbye to show business. The 60-year-old gave an interview to Access Hollywood's Kit Hoover on Thursday, March 31, when he said, “Well, I’m retiring. Yeah, probably. I’m being fairly serious,” when asked to share his thoughts on Dolly Parton’s desire to see him in her upcoming biopic.

He also revealed that “if the angels bring some sort of script that's written in gold ink, that says to me that it's going to be really important for people to see, I might. I might continue down the road, but I'm taking a break,” before adding: “I really like my quiet life, and I really love putting paint on canvas, and I really love my spiritual life, and I feel like – and this is something you might never hear another celebrity say as long as time exists – I have enough. I've done enough. I am enough.”

'Sickened' Jim Carrey calls Hollywood SPINELESS after Will Smith got standing ovation

The ‘Ace Ventura: Pet Detective’ star’s statement came after an old video of him forcibly kissing Alicia Silverstone went viral. In addition, another video from the same time showed Carrey even trying to plant a kiss on Will Smith as a gag. The two clips from the 1997 MTV Movie Awards resurfaced after the Canadian-American comedian slammed Smith for slapping Chris Rock at the 94th Academy awards. During an interview with Gayle King on CBS Mornings, he said, “I was sickened. I was sickened by the standing ovation. Hollywood is just spineless en masse and it really felt like this is a really clear indication that we aren’t the cool club anymore.”

He noted that if he was in place of Rock that day he’d “have announced this morning that I was suing Will for 200 million dollars because that video is going to be there forever, it’s going to be ubiquitous. That insult is gonna last a very long time. If you want to yell from the audience and show disapproval or say something on Twitter [that’s OK, but] you do not have the right to walk up onstage and smack somebody in the face ‘cuz they said words.”

Carrey also mentioned that he has respect for the ‘Suicide Squad’ star as he added: “I wish him the best, I really do … He’s done great things. But that was not a good moment. It cast a pall over everybody’s shining moment. It was such a selfish moment that cast a pall over the whole thing.”

However, ‘The Truman Show’ actor was criticized heavily for his remarks against Smith since he was also responsible for humiliating Silverstone on-stage years ago. Sharing the video, a user tweeted: “says the guy who sexually assaulted alicia silverstone on stage. poor alicia ran off stage in humiliation. the absolute entitlement he has to forcibly kiss a 19 year old girl and then point fingers at will smith for being ‘uncivilised’. at least will didn’t sexually harass a teenager.”

The same user also posted: “bruh he also tried to force himself on WILL SMITH!! THE VERY SAME NIGHT!! you can't make this stuff up.” One user posted screenshots of Carrey's actions that night, saying, "In that case, Jim Carrey should be jailed for sexually assaulting a teenaged Alicia Silverstone on stage at the 1997 MTV Movie Awards, and then also trying to sexually assault Will Smith at the same awards show."

Another user mentioned: “I remember this and I remember being so confused. Alicia was clearly confused as well and disgusted. Do folks forget we witnessed a lot of them doing ridiculous things until just recently when everyone decided to be all PC?!” “Makes me wonder why Jim Carrey decided to come for Will Smith so randomly knowing damn well he has a closet full of dirty clothes. I think he is jealous if Will Smiths continued success while his own career has faded,” a tweet read.
