JERUSALEM, ISRAEL: 'Jewish Matchmaking' host and dating coach Aleeza Ben Shalom has made a name for herself by helping Jewish singles find their soulmates through the Jewish tradition of shidduchim, a Hebrew word for an arranged marriage. Shalom instantly became a fan favourite as she was supportive and understood her clients' needs.

Shalom tried her best to find a perfect match for the singles from a number of Jewish backgrounds, including an Orthodox Jew and non-religious Jews in their 20s, 40s and 50s. However, 'Jewish Matchmaking' viewers felt she was "too soft" on the picky singles, especially Ori Baslay and Harmonie Krieger.

Shalom travelled to Miami, Los Angeles, Jerusalem and Tel Aviv to find a perfect match for the singles. She jotted down the expectations and critera of the singles before matching them with anyone. While trying to understand her client's needs, she came across some rigid and strange criteria.

One of Shalom's clients, Dani, wanted to have a partner whose eyebrows were perfect just like hers. Ori wanted a soulmate with blue eyes and blonde hair. However, Shalom calmly and patiently assisted them. She felt that everyone had their personal choice.

'Where is Sima Auntie to shut down these overly picky people?'

While the overly observant and picky clients didn't bother Shalom, viewers were furious over her "too soft" temperament. A social media user commented, "At the same time, for a matchmaking show, it feels like her clients have bigger personalities than her, and it’s amplified by being on tv. Also, their expectations feel more outrageous and she’s too soft with them for it.. I feel Sima Aunty would’ve already had WORDS for some of these people lol (cough Ori cough)." Another person noted, "I would love to watch Sima aunty put Ori in his place."

Another fan said, "Aleeza trying to find a blonde blue-eyed Moroccan Israeli who speaks Hebrew and lives in LA for bum a** Ori." "30 minutes in…Aleeza hasn’t mentioned 60% or 70% once. Aleeza says we gon find your unicorn! IKDR," added another person. Another person suggested, "This Jewish matchmaker is too nice, where is Sima Auntie to shut down these overly picky people lol."

'Jewish Matchmaking' is currently available to stream on Netflix.
