HENRYETTA, OKLAHOMA: Heather Pettigrew, who is mourning the loss of her sister, Holly Guess, and her three children after they were killed in a murder-suicide, has shared that Holly had secretly married convicted sex offender Jesse McFadden less than a year before the tragic incident. Pettigrew expressed her shock and shared that her family had no knowledge of the marriage until a few months ago.

McFadden reportedly shot and killed his wife and five teenagers before turning the gun on himself. They were all found dead in a rural Oklahoma property on Monday, May 1. McFadden was a convicted rapist. He was reportedly given a 20-year sentence for a 2004 first-degree rape charge in Pittsburg County, as per the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. He was also reportedly accused of exchanging nude photos and videos with an underage girl from the Jess Dunn Correctional Center and charged with soliciting sexual communications with a minor and possession/distribution of juvenile content.

'No one in my family even knew the wedding took place'

A marriage license shows that McFadden and Holly got married on May 26, 2022, in a courthouse in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. "We were told they were married on Christmas Eve," Pettigrew said, learning on Tuesday, May 2, that her sister and McFadden had been married for nearly a year. "We did not find out that wasn't true until yesterday [Tuesday]. No one in my family even knew the wedding took place. They had a wedding cake at our Christmas Eve party. I am not sure how or when they met. They moved in together right around the beginning of 2021, I believe," she said, per The Sun.

'Holly was sweet and funny'

According to Pettigrew, her sister never talked about or acknowledged McFadden's criminal history or court hearing. "They argued sometimes, as do every couple, but other than normal arguments, I had no indication of any troubles with any of them," she said. Pettigrew described her older sister as a loving mother whose children were "her world." "Holly was sweet and funny. Super creative and super smart. She snorted like a pig when she laughed, which only made her laugh harder," Pettigrew said.
