RENO, NEVADA: In one of the most comforting news coming out from the entertainment industry, actor Jeremy Renner, who landed in the hospital after a tragic snowplow accident, seems to be recovering quickly and shared a selfie on his official Instagram account as he gave the much-awaited update from the hospital. However, a lot of people wanted to know how the accident occurred or if there was an angle of foul play in this accident. To quash all the rumors, Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam held a press conference and shared the details about the accident that took place while clearing snow outside his house in Reno, Nevada

During the Press Conference, the Sheriff revealed that the 'Mayor of Kingstown' star was trying to "help a family member" by getting a "stuck" vehicle out of the estimated 3 feet of snowfall from the previous night. The Sheriff also noted that the weight of the "Snowcat" was at least "14,330 pounds."

"Mr. Renner went to retrieve his PistenBully, or snowcat — an extremely large piece of snow-removal equipment weighing at least 14,330 pounds — in an effort to get his vehicle moving. After successfully towing his personal vehicle from its stuck location, Mr. Renner got out of his PistenBully to speak to his family member," said Balaam.

However, as soon as he got out of the PistenBully, the machine started to roll and the actor went back to the driver's seat in order to stop it.

According to the investigation by the Sheriff's department, it was at this point that the 'Hawkeye' star was "run over" by the snow plowing machine. Balaam also ruled out any "foul play" and believed that this was just a "tragic accident." The Sheriff's department is now investigating the snow plowing machine and trying to figure out why the safety mechanisms faltered and the machine started to roll.

"The investigation is ongoing, however, we do not suspect any foul play. I'll repeat that: We do not suspect any foul play. We believe this was a tragic accident," the Sheriff concluded.

Renner suffered "blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries" during the tragic accident and underwent surgery. However, it was reported that the star might require a second surgery for a better recovery.

Meanwhile, a promising update arrived when the actor went on to share a photo from the hospital and expressed gratitude toward all the fans who prayed for his speedy recovery. He captioned the pic as, "Thank you all for your kind words. I'm too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all."

He is currently receiving treatment and is still hospitalized.
