HARRISBURG, PENNSLYVANIA: 'Jeopardy!' fans caught in jeopardy? Game show's fans fume over a potentially unjust win during the Monday night episode on March 20. Fans of 'Jeopardy!' took to social media to express their disagreement over professor contestant Melissa Klapper after they claim she gave an incorrect answer and was yet lauded as the winner of the show.

During the final question from a category called 'Quite the Fishy Story' played for $600, host Ken Jennings, presented the contestant with a clue. "The force of Lasse Hallström was strong pull in this Scot to play a fisheries expert in 'Salmon Fishing in the Yemen,'' it read. The Pennslyvania native Klapper responded with what sounded like, "Ewan Gregor." Web sleuths claimed Klapper called the Scottish actor Ewan McGregor, 'Ewan Gregor' but was given the points anyway.

What really happened on 'Jeopardy!'?

During the episode, Pennslyvania professor Klapper narrowly won against Jake Garrett from Alabama, a teacher and football coach, as well as Kelly Barry from Seattle, a marketing communications specialist. However, despite the slight error answer, host Jennings claimed it was right, putting her in the lead and closing the category. "That is correct, taking you to $5,200, you're just off the lead," Jennings said. At the time, Garrett was leading the three contestants with $6,800. However slowed down footage of Klapper's response suggested she did actually say the "Mc" part of the actor's name, but it wasn't audible. The judges too agreed with the assessment and awarded her the points.

'Karens get blocked!'

However, Fans on Twitter claimed they were flawed and had to rewind the episode to hear what Klapper really said. "Tonight there was a mistake on @Jeopardy the woman in the middle named Melissa said 'Ewan Gregor' wen really it's 'Ewan Mcgregor' I played it back twice just to make sure," wrote one fan. Another seconded, "That red headed lady who won answered a question incorrectly. She said Ewan Gregor instead of Ewan MCREGOR. We ran it back twice. She didn't say it. She shouldn't have won." A third blamed the host and said, "How did Ken miss that?" "Thank you!!! I thought for sure they would adjust her score when they came back from the break!" read a fourth. Another said, "Haha. I heard Ewan Breagor. Can't believe he didn't get her to repeat her answer." "We even looked it up and played it back. Could have changed the outcome," read a comment. Hilariously Jeoprady shows Twitter account also voiced in on the debate and wrote, "No, it's 10/2. The judges have the ability to listen back to contestant audio. Had she said "Ewan Gregor", *they would have told us as much*. P.S.: Karens get blocked." Another fan said, "Clearly wrong. @Jeopardy this needs to be corrected!!"
