She has also written in her book, "At his trial, the Exorcist III became a focal point as it was his favorite movie that he watched at least two to three times per week for about six months before he was caught. It was released in the USA in August 1990, and he paid more than $100 to have it in his possession." Further, she added, "He resonated so much with the main antagonist, the Gemini killer, that he bought yellow contact lenses to feel and look like him."
The book further stated, "FBI profiler Robert Ressler reasoned that Dahmer’s interest in the movie was about the power the possessed had over the minds and bodies of the rest of the world, and over reality. During a police interrogation after his 1991 arrest, Dahmer told investigators that The Exorcist III was his favorite movie." According to the FBI documents obtained by The Sun, Dahmer has claimed that the movie "helped fit into his fantasy" and he could "create illusions."
Jeffrey Dahmer is a serial killer and sex offender who committed the murder and dismemberment of seventeen men and boys between 1978 and 1991. He also had an alias name and was known as the Milwaukee Cannibal or the Milwaukee Monster. He finds his victims mostly in gay bars or malls. Many of his later murders involved necrophilia, cannibalism, and the permanent preservation of body parts including the skeleton, heart, etc. Dahmer was arrested on July 22, 1991, after one of his victims, Tracy Edwards, escaped and led officers to his apartment.
He has even explained to an FBI agent that human flesh tasted like nothing but filet mignon. In a 1991 investigation, it was found that Dahmer had been fantasizing to carry out the heinous act for many years and developed an appetite for consuming human flesh. Meanwhile, a Netflix series called ‘Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story’, co-created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan and starring actor Evan Peters detailed the life journey of the Milwaukee cannibal and was released on September 21, 2022.
