OMAHA, NEBRASKA: Singer Jason Derulo left a whooping $5,000 tip during a dinner with friends and family at Charleston's in Omaha, Nebraska. The 'Whatcha Say' singer, 33, left his waiter with an extravagant tip for his service which was enough to help the current college student through his semester.

"Hey Jason, thank you. You just paid for a semester of my college. I can’t say thank you enough," waiter Jordan Schaffer said in a TikTok video. "I hope you and your family have a wonderful time in Omaha, and I hope you see us again."

In the video, which was shared by Derulo on his Instagram feed, the 'Swalla' singer was seen sitting at a table with his family and friends with blue luscious hair and sporting a tie-dye orange and white sweatshirt. "Blessed to be a blessing," wrote Derulo in the caption. Schaffer could be overheard talking to Derulo at his table after receiving the tip. "Wow, my heart's beating really fast," he said. To which Derulo responded by saying, "You guys are really awesome man."

'I can't believe it!'

The camera then turned to the college student's face, who addressed the camera and thanked the actor in person. Schaffer then displayed the gift he had received by holding up the receipt to the camera. "Dude, check it out, I can't believe this," he told his followers. On the $795.99 bill from March 5, the total shows $5,795.99 after the whopping tip. "I can't believe it!" Schaffer added while beaming at the camera.

"I couldn't believe it. Like, seeing $5,000 written out on the check was just — it was, like, heart-stopping, you know," Schaffer told KETV. Schaffer had only ever seen it online - a famous person giving an overly generous tip to a dedicated waiter. "To see it happen to myself is just kind of bewildering," said Schaffer. He says he can now use the funds to pay for college and he is so grateful to Derulo. "Tuition was actually due last week and I hadn't been able to pay it. So, getting that money just really took a lot of stress out of my life," he said.
