After Robert received medical care, his wife Veda tried to drive them home in the dark. However, according to Fleming, the elderly pair, at some point, got lost while on their way back to Aurora. “Veda attempted to drive them home in the dark and headed west on Faidley Avenue from St. Francis,” Fleming wrote to the outlet. “Video footage shows Veda turning south on Webb Road around 8:15 pm. They aimlessly drove around searching for Aurora, NE.”
'Please never give up on this search'
Fleming further wrote: “They reportedly arrived at a home in Giltner and asked for directions, specifically to Aurora, between 10 pm and 10.30 pm. Please note it should take around 30 minutes to get from Grand Island to Giltner. My husband and I personally drove south on that road and discovered that at almost exactly 5 minutes, driving at Veda’s pace around 35-40 mph, the pavement ended and the road turned to gravel in all directions. This told us that Veda knew NOT to take gravel at this time. After Veda and Bob returned to the stop sign after 10 minutes, they turned EAST on W 6 Road.” While reports tell that the couple stopped at another home on W 6 Road, outside of Giltne; however, Fleming emphasizes that there’s no video evidence to “confirm or deny” if this actually happened.
“We deeply appreciate the help we’ve received as well as all the prayers and well wishes. Please never give up on this search, we WILL find Bob and Loveda Proctor,” she added.
