LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: 'Super-Sized Salon' star Jamie Lopez reportedly had big plans to expand her glamorous business before her tragic death on Saturday, December 17. The founder and owner of “Babydoll Beauty Couture” died at the age of 37 because of heart complications.

The 846-pound beauty, who had designed her salon from her home, was taken to a Las Vegas hospital over the December 17 weekend. A source close to Jamie told TMZ that last Friday, she contacted her friend, believing that she needed to go to the hospital. In the week before she died, Jamie had also expressed concern about her heart issues. The star also had a persistent cough that had turned into a lung infection.

TMZ reported that Jamie was set to open her new Babydoll Beauty Salon just before her death. The construction of the new salon was put into action after the rent on Jamie's original location from season 1 was increased during the COVID-19 outbreak. Jamie’s decision to build her own salon even caused season 2's filming to be delayed by four months.

The construction of the salon was completed last Thursday, December 15 and a new sign, saying "Babydoll Beauty Couture by Jamie Lopez," had also been installed. Jamie was planning to proceed with the opening after the inspection of the building. Now her loved ones are planning to hold a memorial for her at the new salon. The new salon manager Jackee has started a GoFundMe campaign to help keep Jamie's dream salon going. “The Babydoll team and management want to keep Jamie's dreams and visions going. Ms. Lopez worked so hard to see her mission in motion. And we all love and support her 100% and want to keep that fire going,” read the appeal.

The salon posted an emotional statement in Lopez's memory on its Instagram page on Monday, December 19, that read, "On behalf of the Babydoll Beauty Couture team, we regretfully announce, with great pain, the passing of The Founder & Owner of Babydoll Beauty Couture, The Legendary Jamie Lopez." It continued, "We ask, on behalf of the Babydoll family, that you allow us time to process this tremendous loss. Further details and arrangements will be announced soon."

"We have suffered an extraordinary loss and appreciate the time and space to grieve in peace. Please keep our Babydoll family & team lifted in your hearts and prayers." The salon thanked staffers and crew members from WE tv and Matador Content "for all their continuous support in this difficult time."
