James Gunn debunks 'Superman: Legacy' cast rumors, says 'casting director hasn't even been hired'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A new Superman movie 'Superman: Legacy' hasn't even started production yet, and James Gunn is already in hot waters debunking rumors related to the production of the film. As Henry Cavill waves goodbye to his ever-loved character as the 'Man of Steel', it is once again being re-imagined back to the silver screens. The new movie, 'Superman: Legacy' was rumored to have a casting process to find the younger version of Superman, as the movie will narrate the story of the early life of the superhero and how he went on to navigate life with superpowers. Recently, it was confirmed that James Gunn would write the script for the movie as well as direct the film, according to DC Universe writer Tom King

The plot and cast haven't been decided yet, but IMDb has listed James Gunn, Joe Shuster, and Jerry Siegel as the writers of the movie. Although the dates aren't released for the movie, it is confirmed to be coming to the silver screens during the summer of 2025.

'I’ve read this many times'

Recently, a user on the internet shared a recent story about Superman and tagged Filmmaker James Gunn to read it as well, "Ladies & Gentlemen this is a good #Superman@Superman story but what stands out is the art by @thealexrossart #AlexRoss and I highly recommend people read it. Now as for Mr Gunn @JamesGunn #JamesGunn once your done with #JohnByrne's run on #ManOfSteel "which is one of my favorites" would you highly consider reading "Peace On Earth" assuming you haven't read it already." to which Gunn replied, "I’ve read this many times." and since then started a chain of conversation between users and Gunn, where another user asked if the rumors about having a casting process for 'Superman: The Legacy' is true, "@JamesGunn are the rumors that youve sent out a casting call for Superman (20-30 years old) true?" to which Gunn replied, "No. A casting director hasn’t even been hired." 



 



 



 



 

'Grace Randolph started this nonsense rumor' 

Users suspected that the rumor was started by An American Reporter, Grace Randolph, and shouldn't be believed. One user added, "Grace Randolph started this nonsense rumor and ppl on here keeps listening to her" to which another user replied, "Who should we believe, you (James Gunn) or Grace Randolph?" A third user chimed in with, "As someone who fumes at scooper-type grifters, I do love how you immediately debunk the nonsense." So, it clears out that there isn't any casting process going on as of now for Superman's reboot film, and It has yet to be revealed when it is actually supposed to begin.
