‘No Time to Die’ release date moved again, 25th James Bond movie to hit theaters 5 days early

This is the second time the film’s release date has been revised as it was originally slated for an April 10 release, but that date was postponed to November 25 in light of the COVID-19 pandemic

The James Bond film ‘No Time to Die’ will be released in U.S. theaters five days earlier than expected. The official James Bond Twitter account announced on Saturday, June 13, “The return of old friends in ‘No Time to Die’. In cinemas 12th November UK, 20th November US.”

Along with the announcement, the account shared photos from the film that featured Daniel Craig as James Bond, Ben Whishaw as Q, Naomie Harris as Eve Moneypenny, Ralph Fiennes as M, Rory Kinnear as Bill Tanner, Jeffrey Wright as Felix Leiter, and Christoph Waltz as Ernst Stavro Blofeld.

This is the second time that the film’s release date has been revised. ‘No Time to Die’ was originally slated for an April 10 release. But that date was postponed to November 25 in light of the COVID-19 pandemic that led to the shutdown of most movie theaters in the U.S.

For the United Kingdom, however, the release date remains unchanged from what it was during the last announcement -- November 12.

Warner Bros has been shifting a lot of release dates. Christopher Nolan’s upcoming ‘Tenet’ was moved from July 17 to July 31. ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ was shifted from August 14 to October 2. ‘Matrix 4’, went from May 21, 2021, to April 1, 2022. The film’s production is currently stalled but is expected to begin next month.

‘No Time to Die’, in fact, seems to be taking the spot that originally belonged to ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’. The film that was supposed to release on November 20, will now take over the ‘Matrix 4’ release date of May 21.

‘No Time to Die’ is the 25th installment in the ‘James Bond’ film series and will be Craig’s fifth and final performance as the fictional MI6 agent. Development of the film began in 2016, and it’s been directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga of ‘True Detective’ fame. The film reportedly takes place five years after the events of the previous Bond film ‘Spectre’, where Ernst Stavro Blofeld (Waltz) was captured and arrested.
