With Ivanka Trump away from the spotlight after a new president was inaugurated on January 20, looks like she also chose to quietly take a hiatus from all forms of social media.

Ex-President Donald Trump's eldest daughter and senior adviser, who was always active on both Twitter and Instagram, often posting behind-the-scenes pictures of governmental events and campaign rallies in the last four years, has gone completely silent post exit from the White House. This is in stark contrast to the social media activities of her siblings Donald Trump Jr and Eric Trump, both of whom continue to tout the achievements of their father, falsely claim that the 2020 election was stolen from Trump, and bash various Democratic lawmakers.

The last message that Ivanka shared on her Twitter account, where she has 10.3 million followers, and Instagram, with 7.8 million followers, was a farewell message on January 20 — the day she lost her first daughter title as well as her position as a senior adviser.

Farewell message

Unlike her father who never officially conceded to President Joe Biden after losing the 2020 election, or publicly take his rival's name, preferring to call it "new administration" the former first daughter took the names of both the new president as well as the vice president and their respective spouses during her farewell address.

"It has been the honor of a lifetime to serve our nation as an advisor to the president. I am so proud of what we have accomplished and excited for the future. I came to Washington to fight for American families and I leave feeling I've done that. I hope and believe that America can move forward in a positive way, acknowledge our differences and find common ground - that is how we will remain the greatest nation. The last four years have been an incredible journey. In traveling to nearly every American state and dozens of countries, I fell even more deeply in love with the American people," she wrote.

She added: "Thank you for all the love and support that you have shown me. I leave DC in awe of the compassion, grace and grit that exists across this nation. These great and strong people have reinforced my abiding faith in America. May God give wisdom, courage and strength to President-elect Joseph R. Biden, Dr Jill Biden, Vice President-elect Kamala D Harris, Mr. Douglas Emhoff and all of the leaders, judges, officers and officials who devote themselves to service of the public. As Americans we must all pray for their success. God bless you all and God bless the United States of America."

Active social media

Unlike children of some famous personalities, who choose to keep their social media accounts private, Ivanka has never shied away from media scrutiny and has been comfortable with being in the limelight from a very early age as her father was a well-known Manhattan business mogul and later, ran a reality TV show before becoming the commander-in-chief. As a result, there are no doubts that she learned to self-curate her social media image as time went by.

The talent came in handy after she started working at the White House, which was the center of attention for not only the nation but the entire world. As a result, she gained millions of followers during her tenure as the president's adviser and she kept people interested by posting selfies and other official photos from important events. Her dad features in many of these posts. However, more than her role at the said events, her followers focused more on her outfits and flawless blond hairdos which established her as something of a style icon.

Break from social media

Although she never really made any official announcements as such, Ivanka's absence from social media for about a month now can only suggest that she has decided to take a hiatus from platforms like Twitter and Instagram for now. As to whether she plans to return any time soon, there is no way to tell.

For now, fans of the former first daughter have to satisfy themselves with those occasional paparazzi pictures that keep popping in tabloids showing Ivanka lazing around with her husband, Jared Kushner, and their three children in their Miami neighborhood, where the family has taken a condo that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean on lease. Some other pictures showed the couple grabbing some ice creams with kids. In another, she was seen in a black ensemble and a baseball cap over her head as she went out for a run with her dog Winter.

It seems, the former first daughter is taking a much-needed breather after a roller-coaster of four years at the White House, enjoying her vacation, focusing on relaxing, and taking things slow for the time being.
