LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Disney+ is home to several amazing original content pieces, including 'The Mandalorian', 'Willow', and 'Loki'. And now, Disney+ is set to expand its horizon by making a series based on the life of the iconic fashion designer, Karl Lagerfeld. And the most interesting update for this upcoming series titled 'Kaiser Karl' comes with the announcement of the lead of this series. The legendary Karl Lagerfeld will be played by none other than the talented actor, Daniel Bruhl. 

The upcoming Disney+ series is said to have been created and adapted for television by Isaure Pisani-Ferry, who is known for her work in 'Ganglands'. Others who jouned Pisani-Ferry are  the'Red Band Society' writer Jennifer Have, and Raphaëlle Bacque, who is known for the bestselling biography, 'Kaiser Karl: The Life of Karl Lagerfeld'.

'Kaiser Karl'

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Daniel Brühl is set to play the late fashion designer legend in 'Kaiser Karl'. This Disney+ series is set to have a total of 6 episodes in the series is set in 1970s Paris. The upcoming DIsney+ series is set to follow the life of the young Karl Lagerfeld as he raise through the Parisian high fashion of the 70s. The series is also set to depict the rivalry between Karl and Yves Saint Laurent’s partner Pierre Berge (owner of a fashion company). The series is also set to focus on his love story with Jacques de Bascher.

Ever since the casting of Bruhl playing fashion Icon, Lagerfeld, has been announced, there have been mixed reactions from fans. One fan shared their excitement for the announcement and wrote, "Awesome." Another fan who is not completely satisfied with Bruhl's casting added, "Karl Lagerfeld and Disney is not a combination I would have ever dreamed up. Also, Daniel looks nothing like Kaiser Karl. Good actor tho!" Further, someone, who considered casting Bruhl in the upcoming series interesting, commented, "Interesting casting! Daniel will have to wear a wig, hiding his beautiful hair." Some fans are a bit disappointed regarding the typecast of Bruhl as a German. One fan shared their disappointment by adding, "He always gets cast as german villains." Another fan chimed in by adding, "Hollywood always cast him for german roles! But I really like him, he's good actor!" When Bruhl and Disney+ come together, it immediately takes the fans back to the 2021 internet sensation, the famous 'Zemo dance' from Marvel's Disney+ series 'The Falcon and the Winter Soldier'. And ever since the announcement for 'Kaiser Karl' is made, some fans are connecting both the references and celebrating the news. One fan commented with a wordplay by writing, "Kaiser Zemo," while another shared a GIF of the famous Zemo dance moves to share their excitement for the news.
