Noodle, the pug who won fans on the Internet for his "bones or no bones" ritual, has died at the age of 14, his owner announced. Jonathan Graziano, Noodle's owner, announced the death of his beloved dog on Friday in an emotional update he uploaded on Instagram and TikTok. Noodle was 7 years old when Graziano adopted him. Graziano began posting videos of the pug every morning on TikTok in 2021, and the pair became increasingly popular on social media.

Graziano posed Noodle upright in each clip to test whether the dog could stand on his own. If he stood up on his own, it was "bones day," which instantly became online jargon for a day to get out of bed and make the most of your day. If Noodle slumped back down, it was a "no bones day," or a day for self-care and rest.

"He made millions of people happy," he continued. "Thank you for loving him. Thank you for embracing us." In the caption, he wrote, "It has been the privilege of my life to care for Noodle these past 7 years. The sweetest man there has ever been and there will ever be".

The reactions to his teary video made fans share the happiness he brought to them while also sharing Graziano's grief. "So so sorry, Noodle brought so much joy to so many people," one commented on his Instagram post, and another said, We are so saddened to learn of Noodle's passing. There is nothing that leaves a gaping hole in your heart quite like a pug. No matter how long they live it’s never long enough. We pray that you find comfort in knowing he touched so many hearts and made so many people happy". One said that they loved both of them and that Noodle will be celebrated this and every day, "Noodle will be celebrated this and every other day! we love him and you (Graziano), thank you for sharing him with us, we love you." One wished comfort to Graziano in memories he made with Noodles, "From one senior dog lover to another, thank you for giving Noodle the opportunity to live his very best life! We wish you comfort in the memories you made together." “I had absolutely no idea this would become the barometer in which the nation foretold how their day was going to go,” Graziano told CNN in an interview once. He also wrote the Newyorkbest selling book "Noodle and the No Bones Day".

"This is Noodle. He has been a constant source of joy for millions, by sharing his prediction for the day in the form of “bones, or no bones?” Yesterday, Noodle passed away peacefully at the age of 14. He was so loved by so many. It will now and forever be… a bones day." a Twitter user wrote. "Oh no goodbye, little buddy, we’ll miss you so much. I’m glad it was peaceful, I lost a pup to grand mal seizures and I would have given anything for him to just go easy He was a sweetie tho. Miss you Fonz, maybe you and Noodle can be friends wherever you are now;" another user wrote, "Seeing Noodles these last few years helped after losing our boys (14 & 17). This is definitely a no bones day."
