NEWARTHILL, SCOTLAND: A family has been trying to heal from an unexplained incident that took away the life of their five-year-old daughter. As per reports, Isabella Grace Docherty, lovingly called Bella, died on February 13 after vomiting a few times. The family didn't think much of the vomitting as she was okay otherwise. However, when it didn't stop, they sought paramedics' help but it was too late.

Now, her grieving mother Pamela Little told the Daily Record, “Her post-mortem came back as inconclusive. We don't know why this happened and it's killing us inside. We are awaiting the results of further tests which we really hope will give us much-needed answers as to what happened to our girl.”

‘We thought she had picked up a tummy bug’

Explaining how the situation unfolded, the 38-year-old woman from Newarthill said, “She began vomiting suddenly earlier on in the day but it was nothing majorly concerning. We canceled her swimming lesson that night as we thought she had picked up a tummy bug because we knew a lot of her friends from the nursery had been ill too. She threw up a few more times and was a little agitated but she didn't have a temperature so we weren't worried.”

Pamela continued, “She was still asking for food, including a McDonald's, and was bossing us around. There were no red flags whatsoever.” However, things changed for the worse when Bella was not able to sleep. Her mother reportedly shared, “She was slightly unsettled, and wouldn't sleep so he thought he would take her downstairs to see if she would settle on the couch with him. At 4 am she vomited suddenly and collapsed on the floor. Brian screamed at me to come down. When I came in he was holding her in his arms. I brushed her hair away from her face and my instincts told me she was gone.

“We phoned for an ambulance and did CPR, a neighbor came to help until paramedics came and after that, it's just a nightmare. I just remember seeing her face and realizing something bad had happened. Paramedics and doctors [at Wishaw General Hospital] did all they could but they couldn't save her.”

‘Her behavior had suddenly changed’

The mother mentioned an abnormality on Bella's brain stem, which was discovered by her doctor after an MRI. But she also noted that she was told not to worry about it. Pamela told the publication, “She has some issues with her brain, but nothing that we were told to be worried about. Her behavior had suddenly changed after she had chicken pox last summer, so she had ct scans and an MRI they said there was an abnormality on her brain stem but it wasn't life-threatening. Doctors said it could have been something she was born with.”

She stated, “They didn't know exactly what it was and now they may never find out. She was due to go into the hospital last week as an in-patient for some testing but unfortunately, suddenly, she's gone.”

Bella leaves behind her two elder siblings – Leon, 15, and Ellie, 13. Speaking of them and her husband, Pamela added, “We are absolutely broken. Bella was our funny, caring little diva and now we just want the world to know how amazing she was. Me and her dad are taking it hour by hour. The kids are devastated. Ellie saw everything so she's pretty traumatized. She shared a room with Bella so she's not coming home yet.”

‘The unbearable pain is unimaginable’

Meanwhile, a fundraiser has reportedly been started by a person named Stacey Bank. The message on the page said, “With permission from the family, I have set this page up for anyone who wishes to help the family at this devastating time. In the early hours of Tuesday morning, Brian and Pamela‘s precious princess Isabella was sadly taken from them suddenly at just 5 years old.”

It also noted, “The unbearable pain and suffering the family are going through at the moment is unimaginable 💔 Any donations towards our beautiful Bellas celebration of life would be greatly appreciated 🙏🤍.”
