Is TikTok launching its AI?

TikTok's PR team said in several tweets that it will release its AI. The tweet read, "Tako is powered by a third-party chat assistant and is designed to help make it easier to discover entertaining and inspiring content on TikTok. No current plans for this beyond these early tests, but we're excited to hear your feedback!"

For now, the limited tests will be conducted solely in the Philippines, with only a few users participating. This could be just another test by TikTok to confirm that anything works before proceeding or abandoning the idea.

What to expect from TikTok's AI?

The app has an open experimental side, which includes this new AI venture. The app's creators, ByteDance, recently launched and then withdrew a multi-genre selection from the "For You" tab for some users. The AI is expected to not only recommend videos based on user searches but will also allow users to ask numerous questions about a video using natural language processing.

 It remains to be seen whether TikTok's chatbot AI will be implemented, but if the limited tests are successful, it may be expected to compete with other, similar apps. TikTok's AI chatbot would position Tako above the profile symbol to the right of a video. The AI will not be available to underage users, according to Android Headlines.
