LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Selena Gomez is hinting at her retirement from music.

This year, the singer-actress will be releasing her new record which will be a follow-up to her 2020 album called 'Rare.'

While making an appearance in an episode of the “Smartless” podcast with Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett, Gomez reflected on her music career and stated that she wanted to settle on one thing in her career.

The 'Only Murders in the Building' star said, “I started having a lot of fun with music and then touring was really fun. But I was doing my TV show at the same time [Wizards] and I just found it really fun so I just kept going but the older I get, the more I’m kind of like, I would like to find something to just settle on." as per Deadline.

At one point, Gomez mentioned that she wanted to make up her mind about her career path and focus on acting.

The Hulu star added, “I do feel like I have one more album in me but I would probably choose acting.”

Soon after, the netizens began sharing their take on Gomez's retirement plans from music.

A Reddit user said, "She's a terrible singer, I'm shocked she still thinks she has one album left in her... it's a miracle she even has a music career."

Another user wrote, "Her best music comes from being a feature artist anyway tbh."

A user went on to say, "Given her level of “talent” I didn’t think she had any albums in her to begin with."

Followed by a person who penned, "Finally some good news."

A comment read, "Thank god."

One user shared, "Not sure how I feel about her music lol. I genuinely loved her earlier stuff but the rare era wasn’t for me and I kinda checked out from her music altogether once I stopped listening to traditional pop music… Idk, good for her for admitting she doesn’t have anything more to share, music wise at least."

During the same episode, Gomez revealed how she got into singing, thanks to Disney's show 'Wizards of Waverly Place.'

The Rare Beauty founder told the hosts, "Disney is, it’s safe to say, a machine and, in a way, forcefully require that I know how to sing so I could sing the theme song [of a show]. They know how to package someone and make it a whole triple threat thing."

In 2008, Gomez formed the pop band Selena Gomez & the Scene and dropped three albums from 2007 to 2011.

The famed singer released her first solo album 'Stars Dance' in 2013, followed by 'Revival' and 'Rare' in 2015 and 2020 respectively.
