A Georgia man was arrested on Tuesday, March 16, night after a string of shootings that police said appeared to target Asian women at massage parlors and left eight people dead. As soon as the name of the person got released, the Internet started wondering if he was a Donald Trump supporter.

Aaron Long, 21, of Woodstock, Georgia, was caught on video at the crime scenes and later nabbed on a highway two hours south of Atlanta following a police chase, authorities said. Police stressed that it was still much too early to announce a motive, but the horrific attacks come amid a wave of targeted violence against the Asian-American community. The violence began at Young’s Asian Massage Parlor in Acworth, Georgia, where two people were killed, one other person succumbed to their injuries en route to a nearby hospital, and one died while in treatment, according to the sheriff’s office. The victims were two Asian women, a White woman, and a White man, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. A Hispanic man was also injured in the shooting and was rushed to a hospital for medical treatment, a spokesman for the sheriff said.

After about an hour, around 30 miles away, two spas which were located at the same Atlanta street, Gold Spa and one in Aroma Therapy Spa were targeted by him, it left four Asian women dead. When officers arrived at one of the spas to find the victims, they got a call to report to the second spa, which was also a target. “While at [the first location] we received another call across the street of shots fired, and responded to find another individual shot at that location,” Atlanta Police Chief Rodney N Bryant told reporters.

“Pizza, guns, drums, music, family, and God. This pretty much sums up my life. It’s a pretty good life,” read the tagline on an Instagram account that appeared to belong to Long. A student who graduated from Sequoyah High with Long in 2017 told The Daily Beast, “He was very innocent-seeming and wouldn’t even cuss. He was sorta nerdy and didn’t seem violent from what I remember. He was a hunter and his father was a youth minister or pastor. He was big into religion.”

The clear motive behind the shooting is still not revealed by the police department, though the Internet is speculating that "racism" was the motive behind his horrendous act.

As soon as the Internet got the hold of the news, they started politicizing it. There is no proof that Long is a supporter of Donald Trump or his ideologies. One Internet user wrote: "This is Robert Aaron Long, the White Supremacist [likely Trump supporter] who shot and killed 8 people at 3 Atlanta-area massage parlors, where mostly Asian women worked. What a coward and a piece of shit. Thank Trump’s #ChinaVirus rhetoric for this. #RobertLong #RobertAaronLong." While another one questioned: "What are the chances Robert Aaron Long is a Trump supporter? #RobertAaronLong #Racist #MAGA #DonaldJTrump #MarjorieTraitorGreene"

Agreeing to a post claiming that Aaron is a Trump supporter, another one said: "Yup pos ... I could have described exactly what the guy would look like without even seeing his ugly mug." Author Frederick Joseph said: "White supremacy was and will always be bigger than Donald Trump and old white men, though so many fail to understand. Aaron Long is only 21-years-old, a few years out of high school. This white rage and violence is built upon generational indoctrination and must be stopped."

While opposing these tweets, another one said: "The loony left can't stop bringing their politics and hate to everything. They are saying Robert Aaron Long is a Trump supporter without any proof." While another one called him a racist and said: "Robert Aaron Long is a racist white nationalist nazi lover."
