Is Peyton Hillis OK? Former Browns RB in critical condition after saving his children from drowning

TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA: Former Cleveland Browns running back Peyton Hillis is hospitalized and in intensive care after saving his children from drowning in the Florida ocean. Peyton rescued his children who were drowning following a swimming accident in Pensacola. He was taken by helicopter to a local hospital.

Alyssa Orange, anchor of KNWA tweeted, "Adding to this information, I have confirmed Hillis was in a swimming accident in Pensacola, FL and helicoptered to the hospital. He remains unconscious in the ICU. Family asks to please pray for him and a speedy recovery."

Meanwhile, a Facebook post by one of Peyton's uncles, Greg Hillis also claimed, "I just wanted to let everyone know on Razorback Nation that Peyton is doing better. He’s still in intensive care and having some problems with his kidneys and his lungs but the doctors say he is improving. I just wanted to head off any rumors that may be started. I’m sure he would want everyone to know that he appreciates all of the prayers being thrown up on his behalf!!!."



 

According to the Daily Mail, Peyton became famous because he was featured on the cover of the video game 'Madden" He is known for his 2010 season with Cleveland, in which he totaled 1,600 yards and 13 touchdowns. He spent two years with Cleveland and eventually signed with the Kansas City Chiefs and later landed in a two-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New York Giants. In 2015, he retired from the NFL on the advice of his doctor due to recurring concussions and the risk of future injuries. Peyton was previously married to Amanda Brown, who is a singer by trade, and had children with her, including son Orry, born in 2013, Married Biography reports. The duo divorced later in 2020 and he is currently involved with actress Angela Cole.
