It seems like some of the predictions made by Omarosa Manigault Newman, a former political aide to President Donald Trump, might be coming true, especially after rumors started flying that first lady Melania Trump might be looking to divorce her husband after he lost the 2020 election to President-elect Joe Biden. Newman wrote in her 2018 tell-all, 'Unhinged,' that if the FLOTUS does end up quitting her marriage, she will be doing it only after the POTUS left the White House as he might "punish" her otherwise.

Melania, a Slovenian ex-model married Trump in 2005 and they share one son, Barron, together. Newman, in her book, said the “vindictive” Trump might attempt to deport his wife should she tried and divorce him. "He is a vindictive man, and I would not put anything past him," she said. "Melania is counting every minute until he is out of office and she can divorce. If Melania were to try to pull the ultimate humiliation and leave while he's in office, he would find a way to punish her."

The First Lady’s spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham, has since rubbished Newman’s comments and her book’s account of the Trump administration. In August, she said: “Mrs Trump rarely, if ever, interacted with Omarosa. It’s disappointing to her that she is lashing out and retaliating in such a self-serving way, especially after all the opportunities given to her by the President.” Sarah Sanders, the president’s former press secretary, also echoed similar sentiments about Newman’s account and said her book was “riddled with lies and false accusations”.

Newman also told ITV last month that the Trumps’ relation was “very strange” and they go from hot to cold and back frequently. She added: “I'm very cautious to comment on the dynamics of a marriage because you never know what goes on behind closed doors. But I have known this couple since they were dating, they got married a year after 'The Apprentice' aired. What I have observed in the last 17 years would make your head spin. Sometimes they like each other but sometimes she is repulsed by him.”

Despite some really frosty moments in public, 50-year-old Melania claims she has 'a great relationship' with her husband. Meanwhile, he insists that they never argue. Trump's prenup agreement with second wife Marla Maples limits her from publishing any book or giving interviews critical of him. Lawyer Christina Previte said it was likely Melania had agreed to a similar code of silence.

However, it was reported that she burst into tears when Trump became the President of the United States in 2016, with one friend, saying: "She never expected him to win. She waited five months before moving from New York to Washington, allegedly because the couple's son Barron needed to finish school." Her former aide, Stephanie Wolkoff alleged Melania was negotiating a post-nuptial agreement to give Barron an equal share of Trump's fortune. Wolkoff claimed that the couple had separate bedrooms in the White House and "a transactional marriage."
