Hulu is clearly not done with ‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’. The platform has now confirmed that the franchise is growing, this time heading to Southern California with a new spinoff titled ‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County’. The announcement landed on April 22, and it immediately stirred curiosity. That’s because the show has introduced a completely fresh circle of women rather than leaning only on familiar faces. Set in Orange County, the upcoming series will spotlight what Hulu describes as a “new group of dynamic young mothers.” The official description noted that in this community, “beliefs are not just their religion; they are their identity.”

The cast lineup reflects a mix of internet personalities and entrepreneurs who already have strong followings. Names like Aspyn Ovard, Bobbi Althoff, Avery Woods, Salomé Andrea, McCall DaPron, Chandler Higginson, Ashleigh Pease, and Madison Bontempo are all set to appear. Even though the show is not set to premiere until later this year, conversation around it has already taken off. A big chunk of that chatter is focused on Avery Woods, who has become one of the most talked-about names in the cast. The question floating around is simple but surprisingly hard to pin down: Is she actually Mormon? Woods brings an interesting background into the mix. Before building her online presence, she worked as a pediatric nurse and began posting content while still in school.

Over time, her social media activity picked up speed, eventually leading her to step away from nursing altogether. These days, she runs lifestyle content and hosts a podcast titled ‘CHEERS! with Avery Woods’, which is part of the Unwell network. She is also a mother and has been married to her husband, David, since 2016. Together, they are raising their children, son Ziggy, and daughter Stevie, along with David’s older kids from a previous relationship. Still, the religious question has not gone away. Despite joining a series centered around Mormon women, Woods herself has not been clearly identified as part of the faith. That uncertainty has fueled plenty of online speculation. On Reddit, users have been picking apart her past statements and public image.

One user asked, “Was she even Mormon ever?” Another responded, “Depends on the day you ask, she talks about how she wasn’t religious one day, then the next day she was.” Comments like these have kept the conversation going, with no clear answer in sight. It is the kind of debate that reality TV thrives on, even before a single episode airs. Adding to the attention, Woods faced backlash the previous year following a remark she made about Jesus on her podcast. The controversial comment sparked criticism online, and she later addressed the situation with an apology on TikTok. That moment brought even more eyes to her and her current standing in the Mormon religion. At this point, there are still plenty of unknowns. Viewers will have to wait until the spinoff arrives sometime in 2026, as an exact premiere date has yet to be revealed.
