MOSCOW, IDAHO: It has reportedly come to light that Bryan Kohberger had attended a job interview with the police after he sent in an application to join law enforcement. The interview was for an internship with a nearby police department when the 28-year-old was finishing up his master’s degree, seven months before the Idaho murders happened.
Kohberger wrote in an email on April 12, 2022, “It was a great pleasure to meet with you today and share my thoughts and excitement regarding the research assistantship for public safety." The chief responded by saying, "Great to meet and talk with you as well," as per a public records request by The New York Times. He had an online interview with the police chief in Pullman, Washington, where he lived at the time.

'Did he pass?'
This revelation has left the internet rattled. A Reddit user said, "The redacted literally says employee info so yes he got the job." Another user said, "His studies REQUIRE him to apply for an internship with the Pullman PD. He would've begun in AUGUST. I'm guessing he did get hired, because PPD is not denying it."
Following the discussion on Twitter, a person tweeted, "The city of Pullman has declined to answer questions about whether he got the position. The job was set to begin on Aug. 22. The murders occurred on Nov. 13. Why?" to which another user replied, "The city is citing the gag order in Idaho as reason not to answer questions." Another user said, "When records were released, did it show as in these photos the Redaction of Kohberger email being covered with “Employee Email”? If so, there is the answer!" One user asked, "Was there a psych evaluation and did he pass?"
One user pointed out, "If he had gotten the job, he would have co-managed the WSU CSI Lab according to the job req. above. One would assume as co-manager of the CSI Lab, he'd have had access to the CSI Lab, however, WSU says he never had access to those facilities. Must not have gotten it."
