MOSCOW, IDAHO: A social media user has claimed they are "sick of all of the drug talk" against the Idaho victims. Before suspect Bryan Kohberger was caught, a taxi driver had claimed that the house where the murders took place is a “known party spot". He also said “that’s where people go to get drugs.”

Even after Kohberger's arrest, conversations about the house being a "drug house" continued to surface. The taxi driver had said at the time, according to Idaho Tribune, "I used to drive people there all of the time, its a known party spot. Everyone knows that’s where people go to get drugs."

Taking to Reddit, a user has now written, "I have seen so many people on here attack others over their opinions, or thoughts, then turn right around and accuse the victims of having a trap or drug house. There is a tremendous difference in a 'party house' and a 'drug house'. There is absolutely zero evidence substantiating that the victims were into selling/buying drugs. NONE. None of them had ever been arrested, or anything else that should indicate that they were into drugs. The police were there pretty often, and no one finds it odd that they never searched them for drugs. They were 'partiers', not some mafia style drug lords."

"I find this so offensive to the parents, and family of the victims. Not only have their children been brutally murdered, but now most all Redditors, FB groupers, YT'ers, Snap Chatters are throwing out the drug house/drug dealers all willy nilly, like it's ok. It is NOT ok," the post continued. "I would be absolutely crushed if people that do not even know what they are talking about, that are only going on about a 10th of the information, zero facts that indicate that they were drug lords, were spreading this all over the internet. It is just downright cruel. It isn't as bad as being a murderer, but it is definitely off the charts horrible to accuse people of this when you have no right, and the victims obviously cannot defend themselves. You demand sympathy and empathy for DM, and the family/friends of the victims? Ok, well you set a good example by showing it yourselves. So cruel and disrespectful to all involved and all they left behind. These drug house accusations should not be tolerated," the social media user further said.

"I don’t think ppl really think it was a trap house. They threw a lot of parties & get togethers Even if they themself did not do drugs drugs were def done in that house. So many people have been there. There could have been drug deals without their knowledge as well. That’s all college parties for you. Of course they all deserve respect and so do the families this is a high attention case so people are going to try to explore all angles," one user replied to the post, adding, "Drugs or not it’s super strange for friends & families to be called before the police."

The comment continued, "I believe BK did it but for devils advocate to your post “innocent until proven guilty”. Ppl are digging so deep into his past bringing up things from a decade ago. Talking about his drug abuse, quoting his posts word for word about his mental illness, struggles, and bullying. You could argue how unfair that is for his parents as well. He clearly had mental health issues and his parents probably feel like complete s**t for not seeing the signs. I agree the victims deserve respect and I couldn’t even begin to imagine what there families are going through. These girls were very public on social media. At least people are talking about this case and are invested. There are sooo many horrific cases that get no social media presence."

The person, who made the main post, replied, "I absolutely agree with you. A teenager with mental issues is a far stretch from the same almost 30 year old man having the same issues. I have no clue if he did it or not, but I do know that the victims are dead, and therefore cannot defend themselves. I cannot even imagine what their families are going through, and I just find it horrible that people are throwing around 'trap/drug' house. That is a serious allegation. That is a crime that would/could have sent them to federal prison for a very long time. One might even think that if they were doing that, and trying to just throw their lives away dealing drugs, that their murders don't even matter so much. Most people do not have their heart strings tugged when a druggy is killed. I just think that these kids deserve so much better than accusing them of that like it's nothing. BK killed them because of.....drugs. It's just not right to be saying that. By all accounts, they were partying, but very well kept, studious, hard working, law abiding students {except for a few noise complaints} with huge life goals."

"Alright, who's holding? Let's do this thing before they shut our trap house down," one user said, to which the main post's author replied, "It is statistically proven that when a 'druggy' is murdered due to a drug deal gone wrong, or someone wanted to steal their drugs, or kill the competition that it waters down the sympathy for the victim/victims. Most people don't really care if drug lords get murdered. I would go so far as to say that I've heard 'good riddance'. This is just wrong. The neighbors stated that it was an open 'party' house, just like a lot of college kids houses/apartments, but some people have chosen to turn them into seemingly dope dealing thugs. What a horrible mark on their memory and legacies."

It has been revealed that Kohberger allegedly sent one of the four victims several private messages on Instagram before the murders. He messaged one of the female victims several times, but she did not reply. "He slid into one of the girls' DMs several times, but she didn't respond," an investigator told People. "Basically, it was just him saying, 'Hey, how are you?' But he did it again and again."

Kohberger was arrested in Albrightsville, Pennsylvania, on December 30. The 28-year-old has been accused of fatally stabbing Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Madison Mogen, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Ethan Chapin, 20, in their off-campus three-story rented home on November 13, 2022. The weapon used to kill the students is believed to be a fixed-blade Ka-Bar-style knife, which has still not been found. However, DNA found on a knife sheath recovered from the crime scene linked Bryan Kohberger to the slayings.
