PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA: Philadelphia Eagles supporters have already begun flipping cars in the street before their team takes on the Kansas City Chiefs during Super Bowl LVII. Police were forced to oil light poles in an effort to prevent supporters from climbing them in wild celebrations since Philadelphia fans are widely renowned for their chaotic city takeovers after sporting events.

The Philadelphia supporters exaggerated their reputation on Sunday, February 12, 2023, even though the Super Bowl LVII hadn't yet begun. Fans flocked to the roadway in large numbers, with some choosing to entirely flip a car over. A video of the fans' inappropriate behavior, which was being filmed by many onlookers, surfaced on social media.

What did Philadelphia Eagles fans do?

Numerous onlookers recorded the absurd action and a video of it surfaced on social media. As the supporters position themselves to flip the car, several can be heard yelling, "No, don't do it." A group of spectators gathered on one side of the car and were able to exert enough force to turn it entirely over, reported Daily Mail.

The same scene occurred in 2022 during the Philadelphia Phillies' march to the World Series, which ended with a loss to the Houston Astros. After the Eagles won the NFC Championship last month in January, several supporters were spotted tumbling through a glass bus stop canopy. A group of about ten Eagles supporters could be seen standing on top of the glass building, which broke and sent everyone down to the busy street below. The incident's aftermath was not depicted in the video.

The atmosphere was reminiscent of the one in Philadelphia five years earlier when the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the New England Patriots to win their first Lombardi Trophy. Following that, some Eagles supporters at the Ritz Carlton started to celebrate on top of a cloth awning until the structure gave way to their weight. Police oiled light poles on Sunday to prevent spectators from climbing above the swarming crowds, just as they had done five years before. Yet again, Eagles fans were able to balance themselves atop street signs and crossing signs.

'Typical Eagles fans'

The reckless behavior of Philadelphia Eagles fans in the middle of the street ignited the internet, with one social media user writing on Twitter, "This is horrible. This game and everything associated with it is nothing but evil." Another wrote, "I don’t condone things of this nature that’s somebody’s car that they just damaged. We should not look at this lightly." A user noted, "No respect for private property. City Moment."

"Imagine if all this energy and tenacity was directed towards something productive…," remarked one user. Another person claimed, "Why?!? I just don’t understand the purpose of this.." "Typical Eagles fans," noted another user. One user noted, "Hope they charge all who were involved!" Another said, "I hope these people are held accountable."
