MOSCOW, IDAHO: Social media compared Idaho murder suspect Bryan Kohberger's photos with those of Sandy Hook school shooter Adam Lanza, stating that they both had the same cold stare. Kohberger, 28, was arrested more than 2,000 miles away from where the murders took place and agreed to be extradited to Idaho from Pennsylvania. His lawyer reportedly said he was shocked at being arrested and was planning to deny the murders.

Kohberger has been accused of stabbing to death University of Idaho students Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Madison Mogen, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Ethan Chapin, 20, in an off-campus three-story rented home in the early hours of November 13. Authorities said that the gory scene where the students were killed was the “worst they’ve ever seen." Kohberger was nabbed in Albrightsville, Pennsylvania, on Friday, December 30.

"The same blank stare as Adam Lanza," a user wrote on Reddit, sharing photos. The mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School took place on December 14, 2012, in Newtown, Connecticut. Lanza, 20, fatally shot 26 people, 20 of whom were children between six and seven years old. The others were adult staffers. Lanza then shot himself in the head as first responders arrived at the school.

"Idk Lanza still takes the cake," one user said of the similarity. "So bizarre, looks like no ones home… its crazy to think what goes on behind their dead eyes," another said. One wrote, "There’s a video going around and people are claiming he called in to talk about the murders. whenever i saw that video adam lanza was my first thought."

"That is called narcissistic eye/stare," one user wrote, while another said, "This was my first thought the second i saw the mugshot. adam lanza stare." "That vacant stare is pretty common among paranoids and schizos. Empty and turbulent," one user said. Another wrote, "The picture is creepy, but - I think a lot of people can be socially awkward and/or on the spectrum and take pictures that looks just like this. He just so happens to have actually been arrested for murdering 4 people so with that in mind…he definitely looks incel creepy."

Kohberger was reportedly charged with four counts of murder in the first degree, as well as felony burglary in connection with the deaths of the four students. Investigators have not publicly confirmed a motive for the murders. The suspect is a PhD student in Washington State University’s Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology, and is said to have lived just minutes from the scene of the crime.
