MOSCOW, IDAHO: Steve Goncalves, grieving father of Kaylee Goncalves, one of the four University of Idaho students mysteriously stabbed to death in an off-campus house, revealed his daughter was murdered in the same bed as Maddie Mogen.

At a vigil for victims on Wednesday, November 30, Steve described his daughter and her best friend Maddie as “absolutely beautiful” souls and revealed they had been inseparable since the beginning of middle school. "These girls were absolutely beautiful. They've been friends since sixth grade… Every day they did homework together, they came to our house together, they shared everything… They went to high school together, then they started looking at colleges and they came here together, they eventually get into the same apartment together," the grief-stricken father said.

"And in the end, they died together, in the same room, in the same bed. And it's a shame, and it hurts. But the beauty of the two always being together is something that will – it comforts us, it lets us know that they were with their best friends in the whole world," he continued. Mogen and Goncalves were sharing a bed at the time of the attack was something the police had not disclosed before, reported Fox News.

Kaylee and Maddie, along with Ethan Chapin and Xana Kernodle, were barbarically murdered in the early hours of November 13 after they returned home. Records and reports suggested the two women went out to Corner Club, a local bar, around 10 pm and returned home at approximately 1.56 am on November 13. After they made their way back home, both repeatedly called Kaylee's ex-boyfriend for an unforeseen purpose, between 2 am and 3 am. But he didn’t answer their calls. However, Kaylee’s ex-boyfriend has been exonerated by the investigators of all misconduct in the probe. Authorities also revealed that Gonclaves and Mogen were killed on the third floor, while Chapin and Kernodle were killed in a bed on the second floor.

In a previous interview with CNN, Steve noted killing was meant to target one person. "I've been told it's one, but then again, there's the bigness like it's purposely big. I'm hoping, but it confuses everyone, yeah, because nobody knows what that really means other than maybe somebody had a different kind of attack footprint; so you know that's... I feel like we just want some more. We all want to play a part in helping, and we can't move if we don't have any real substantial information," he said.

It has been more than two weeks, yet police have failed to obtain any concrete evidence leading to the suspect. Officials believe the suspect used a sharp Rambo-style knife to execute the murders. Investigators have reportedly sent 113 pieces of physical evidence they collected to the Idaho State Police crime lab for analysis. More than 45 investigators from the FBI, state police, and Moscow police are involved in the murder case.
