MOSCOW, IDAHO: Three weeks after the murders of four University of Idaho students, Ethan Chapin, 20, Xana Kernodle, 20, Madison Mogen, 21, and Kaylee Goncalves, 21, in the early hours of November 13, 2022, at around 1.45 am, the killer still remains a mystery. However, police might be close to finding evidence about the person who killed the students as the Moscow Police Department is now in search of a white Hyundai Elantra car. Cops believe the occupants might have important information about the quadruple homicide.

In a statement on Wednesday, December 7, the department wrote, "Detectives are interested in speaking with the occupant(s) of a white 2011-2013 Hyundai Elantra, with an unknown license plate. Tips and leads have led investigators to look for additional information about a vehicle being in the immediate area of the King Street residence during the early morning hours of November 13th. Investigators believe the occupant(s) of this vehicle may have critical information to share regarding this case."

"If you know of or own a vehicle matching this description, or know of anyone who may have been driving this vehicle on the days preceding or the day of the murders, please forward that information to the Tip Line [208-883-7180]," the department further added in the statement.

Sharing the details where one can submit the information about the vehicle, the cops also shared photographs of a 2011-2013 Hyundai Elantra but stated that they are stock images and not of the actual vehicle. The police said, "At this time, no suspect has been identified and only vetted information that does not hinder the investigation will be released to the public."

Who owns the white Hyundai Elantra seen near the crime scene?

The details are unknown. However, the car was found near King Street in the "early morning hours of November 13". The car could help with the murder investigation, for which Idaho Governor Brad Little has allocated $1 million in state emergency funds, reports Fox News.

On the other hand, police also removed some of the victims' personal belongings from the house, and among them were Mogen's pink cowboy boots. Police Chief James Fry, as quoted by DailyMail, said, "We just went in to gather the belongings, and we're just trying to give stuff back to the families so that they can have some closure."
