How was the viral 'Big Wave' song on TikTok created? What is its origin?
There is always a track that goes viral on TikTok, be it Duke & Jones and J hope or Lady Gaga's 'Bloody Mary'. Recently, a song called 'Big Wave' has been circulating on TikTok which is actually a remix of a popular K-pop track.
The original song is called 'DICE' by the K-pop girl group NMIXX. As part of the trend, TikTokers point the camera towards the floor. When the camera points back up, they start dancing to this song. Whenevr the camera goes down and goes up, the people change their moves or their position.

Who performed the song 'DICE'?
NMIXX, a six-piece band, was created by SQU4D, a JYP Entertainment subsidiary that also created the popular K-pop girl group TWICE. Lily, Haewon, Sullyoon, Bae, Jiwoo and Kyujin made their debut in February 2022. Their debut album, 'Ad Mare', featuring the hit lead single 'O.O', also released in February 2022. Although their second single album, 'Entwurf', didn't include the song DICE until later in September 2022.

How was the remix created?
The 'Big Wave' remix was created by a TikTok user named cxchaeon, who used vocals from the NMIXX track and the melody of labyrinth's '9lives'. The remix video has received over 3.1 million views, 314,000 likes and thousands of positive comments. The remix is now part of TikTok's Big Wave challenge, where people copy the dance NMIXX does in the music video of the original song.
American singer and songwriter Khalid too joined in and did the challenge on TikTok. His video, which garnered more than 6.4 million views, sees the 'Love Lies' singer dancing in front of a pool with a view of the mountains.
