You can now compete in CBS’ ‘Survivor’ across all 50 states and you don’t even have to be on TV to play
CBS is going all guns blazing for Survivor's milestone season 50, and this bold new move is proof of that. In a first-of-its-kind reality show, 'Survivor' is set to turn all 50 states of America into a massive scavenger hunt, where anyone can play. To add more thrill to the game, players must crack riddles and track down hidden idols that could help them win major prizes.
The nationwide scavenger hunt will hide immunity idols across all 50 US states, giving fans a chance to compete in real life. Kicking off January 30, the hunt will produce 50 winners, one from each state. Fans will have to follow clues and solve riddles to find the hidden idols, as per Men's Journal. Longtime host and executive producer Jeff Probst announced the 'Survivor 50 Challenge' ahead of the highly anticipated premiere of 'Survivor 50', set to debut on February 25, 2026, on CBS and Paramount+.
Talking about the show's legacy, Probst said, "Survivor has always been about testing yourself, solving problems, facing the unknown, and finding out what you're made of." He added, "For 25 years, fans have watched players take that journey. Now, with the 'Survivor 50 Challenge', we're letting fans try it for themselves…it's a chance to step into the game like never before."
Notably, the 'Survivor 50 Challenge' is designed to be inclusive, welcoming everyone from longtime fans to casual viewers and competition lovers. Participants can form their own 'tribes' with friends or family, follow clues released via the 'Survivor' 50 Digital Hub, and hunt for idols together in a family-friendly experience. Players who find an idol must submit a photo wearing it to qualify for the grand prize sweepstakes, with one additional winner chosen online. CBS has not yet revealed details about the prize.
Not only that, to celebrate its 50th season, CBS has also partnered with Bucket Listers to launch the 'Survivor Ultimate Fan Cafe' at Jungle Island this winter. Opening Thursday, January 29, for a limited time, the pop-up will feature real challenges, Survivor-themed food and drinks, and immersive photo moments, building buzz ahead of 'Survivor 50', as per another Men's Journal report.
Paramount Television President and CMO Mike Benson called the new 'Survivor' initiative "more than an event", describing it as "an immersive tribute to the fan community that has kept CBS' Survivor thriving for 50 seasons." Guests will be able to participate in physical and mental challenges inspired by the show, explore recreations of iconic moments like a Tribal Council, style fire pit, voting confessional booth, and Winner's Wall, and shop exclusive 'Survivor' merchandise.
