How did Sariah Saibu die? 'Beautiful They' star's family mourns her untimely and tragic death
PERTH, AUSTRALIA: Sariah Saibu, who starred in the award-winning coming-of-age romantic film ‘Beautiful They’, tragically died on January 30. Sariah’s aunt Cassandra Colvin first broke the sad news on Facebook, writing, “This morning we lost our darling Sa Riah. I am struggling to find the words to express the grief that I and her family are feeling at this time, and I know her loss will be felt by many. Jenny Saibu and Zakhir Saibu - I send you all my love and strength.”
“A shout out to the beautiful Sariah friends who have already reached out to me and Sariah's family - your words, and the deep love you clearly have for Sariah, provided comfort - I send my love back to you as you all make sense of this tragedy. I have attached a photo shared with me this morning by Jim Bob. It was taken of Sariah about 6 years ago down South and captures her beauty and light. May her radiant soul continue to shine. RIP beautiful- all our love always. Please share this post. We will provide updates on funeral arrangements in time,” the post added.

How did Sariah Saibu die?
Even though the exact reason for Sariah’s death is still unknown, according to Medicotopics, the death was due to a car crash. A GoFundMe page was also created to support the cost of her funeral. The GoFundMe page reads, “Sariah is the Queen, the Karaoke King, the Star, and the Icon. The Princess of not only Perth but Darwin. The protagonist of our lives and a gem of our hearts.”
“Sariah made everlasting impressions on her community, which has been felt and greatly appreciated by her family and closest friends. Every Princess deserves an extra, sassy, and heartfelt celebration of life. We all understand there are extensive costs for these kinds of things. If you'd like to continue to support Sariah's family during this time and have the financial capacity, please donate towards this celebration of her life,” the page added.
About Sariah Saibu's career
The Perth native Sariah played Violet in ‘Beautiful They’ which was shown at the New York Tribeca Film Festival and the Melbourne International Film Festival. The film was nominated for the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Best Short Form Drama award and won the Australian Director's Guild's Best Direction of a Short Film award.
It was also named the best film at Queer Screen Mardi Gras 2022 and the best Australian short film by the City of Melbourne. Apart from her career in movies has modeled and worked as a backup dancer in music videos such as San Cisco's 'SloMo' from 2017 and Catlips' 'Silver Smoke' from 2015. The funeral for Sariah is to be held on February 15, 2023.
