Multiple AVN award-winner, porn star Victoria Paris died aged 60 earlier this week, it was revealed on Sunday, August 15. Victoria Paris was an iconic figure in the adult entertainment industry who made her debut in 1988. Her close friend and fellow AVN Hall of Famer Christy Canyon confirmed the news of her passing with AVN.

A number of shining stars from the adult industry lost their lives this year including Pornhub and OnlyFans star Kristina Lisina who died tragically after falling from the 22nd floor of a building in Russia. Actress Dahlia Sky was found dead in a car in Los Angeles on June 30 with multiple gunshot wounds. The cause of her death wasn't known immediately but detective Dave Peteque told AVN that suicide is "what the investigation is leaning towards, and there's no evidence at this time that there's any foul play." Adult actress Dakota Skye was also found dead in her 'recreational vehicle' in June.

How did porn star Victoria Paris die?

Victoria Paris who was inducted into AVN's Hall of Fame in 1997 died on August 10 after a long battle with cancer. AVN was the first to break the news and Paris's close friend and fellow Hall of Famer Amber Lynn took offense to the article which was supposed to be a tribute saying they didn't do her enough justice. "What is up with @AVNMediaNetwork the memorial on Victoria Paris used a less than becoming old picture and most disappointingly did not grant her, her much deserved 'legendary' status for the history books #VictoriaParis was a true #Legend inducted by @WilliamMargold" she tweeted.

According to Wikiporno,  Paris had a degree in Nutrition from Montana State University and had started off as a secretary in Los Angeles after moving there from her home state of Montana in 1987. It was here she decided to experiment and applied at LA's mud- and oil-wrestling emporium, the Hollywood Tropicana. After a few eventful months working there, she decided to venture into nude modeling, which led to magazine features and eventually to film and video work. She found sex on film easier to get into than photo shoots, so decided to stick with it.

Paris made her adult entertainment debut with the movie 'Live In, Love In' in 1989 which was a parody of 'Three's Company' where she starred next to Tori Welles, Carol Cummings, and Robert Bullock. The following year she won AVN's Best New Starlet award which she shared with Welles which to date remains the only tie for the prize in AVN history. Some of Paris's notable movie credits include 'The Chameleon', 'Bimbo Bowlers From Buffalo', 'The Adventures of Buttman', 'Sorority Sex Kittens', and 'Night Trips'.

She was featured in over 100 adult films during her career, according to AVN. Hall of Famer director Axel Braun spoke to AVN after Paris's death news broke. "Victoria was the star of the very first movie I wrote, 'Fantasy Nights', in 1990. My father [Lasse Braun] produced it, Henri Pachard directed it, Alex DeRenzy was the director of photography, and it featured the top performers of that era, so it was kind of a big deal. An even bigger deal for me, since it was not only my first time in the U.S., but also my first time on a porn set, and it's on that very set that I was able to show off enough camera skills to convince my dad that I should be shooting all his movies ... so obviously my memories of that production are very fond," he said.

"I wrote the lead specifically for her, because she was very classy and had an aura of innocence that fit perfectly with the story I wanted to tell," Braun continued. "When I first met her at the table reading she told me that, just like myself, she didn't smoke, drink or do drugs, which was very unusual for the times, and I immediately noticed that she was extremely professional, personable and meticulously prepared, which is something that definitely helped make that production smooth and pleasant. I bumped into her several times over the years at the Cannes Film Festival, because she loved to travel and she enjoyed the finest things in life. And from my experience with her, she was one," he concluded.
