Update: The death of social media star Mercedes Morr was earlier rumored to be as a result of a robbery gone wrong, but then police said they suspected her death was a part of a murder-suicide. While the man who was found dead at her Texas home has been identified, the cause of death had not been established. The Fort Bend County Medical Examiner has now said 33-year-old Janae Gagnier also known as Mercedes Morr, was strangled. Gagnier's body was found in her apartment on Aug 29 when police were asked to do a welfare check. Police said they saw no signs of forced entry at her unit, reports KHOU.

RICHMOND, VIRGINIA: A popular social media influencer was discovered dead in her Richmond apartment in an apparent murder-suicide, Texas authorities said. The body of another man was also discovered from the influencer's house. The man was identified as 34-year-old Kevin Alexander Accorto. The police have said that this could be a case of murder-suicide. The medical examiner said Accorto killed himself with "multiple sharp force trauma."

The body of 33-year-old Janae Gagnier, known as Miss Mercedes Morr on Instagram, was found on Sunday, August 29, afternoon at her Richmond house, a Houston suburb. Police said that they found the Fashionova and OnlyFans star's body in her home at approximately 4.30 pm. The police department also recovered another body of a man from her house. It is not clear if the two were in a relationship. News of Morr's death comes after it was reported that 31-year-old influencer Marina Lebedeva died from a $5,500 nose job going wrong. Adult star Jake Adams, who has worked for top studios like Reality Kings, Team Skeet, and Naughty America, was reported dead at 29 in a crash in July. There was also the death of Swavy in July. The 19-year-old TikToker was shot dead in Delaware and his fans believed that 'jealousy' could have been a motive for murder.

"Yesterday was the worst day of my life .. my heart is gone. My soul is gone," Gagnier's sister posted on Instagram. Gagnier's sister said she and her mom checked on Janae last Thursday and she was having "an amazing time." "I’m so happy we said we loved you. I’m so happy I got to see your face one last time," the sister posted. Sometime after that, the victim was killed. 

Rapper Tory Lanez confirmed the sad news first as he posted "Rest in peace Queen," on his Instagram story, alongside a photograph of her. Following the news, Morr's friends started flooding her Instagram posts with their condolences. Journalist Stefania Okolie tweeted, "BREAKING: Law enforcement has identified the man accused of murdering Mercedes Morr, as Kevin Alexander Accort. Investigators say after killing the Instagram model and well known houston native, he killed himself. Unknown what the relationship between the two." Gagnier's father tweeted, "The false statements put out by social media and several news outlets is alarming. The death of my daughter is still under investigation. Until we have all the facts no statement will be made please respect the family. #mercedesmorr."

Sharing a video of Gagnier, another one said, "Damn... I'm in shocked My FAVORITE Rest up lil angel #mercedesmorr." Another one said, "Everybody wanna be a stripper until you get in & see yo closes homegirl turn into a cokehead, Greed , rape & having to move like a nigga bcuz you never know who watching you make “TOO” much money ..it’s scary & not normal .. my heart goes out to #mercedesmorr family& friends."
