AMC Theatres honors Diane Keaton by bringing back two of her classic films to the big screen

AMC Theatres will be paying tribute to the late actress Diane Keaton in a beautiful way. According to a report by Variety, AMC Theatres, which happens to be the largest movie exhibition company in the United States, will be rereleasing two of Keaton's films—'Annie Hall' and 'Something’s Gotta Give'—in over 100 theatres nationwide. The media outlet reported that the screenings will take place over one week, starting Friday, September 17. Keaton died on October 11 at the age of 79. While the exact cause of her death is not confirmed, news outlets have shed light on her recent health struggles and past medical conditions. Keaton was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma when she was in her 20s, and decades later, she was diagnosed with squamous cell cancer, as per Hollywood Life.

Throughout the course of her remarkable acting career spanning five decades, Keaton appeared in numerous films, including 'The Godfather,' 'Play It Again, Sam,' 'Love and Death,' 'Father of the Bride,' 'Manhattan Murder Mystery,' 'The First Wives Club,' 'The Family Stone,' and 'Book Club' among many others. Keaton bagged her first Oscar nomination for the 1997 film 'Annie Hall', and went on to win the Academy Award for Best Actress. 

The rom-com film was directed by Woody Allen with a screenplay by Allen and Marshall Brickman. The plot of 'Annie Hall' revolves around Alvy Singer (played by Woody Allen), who tries to find out the reason behind his failing relationship with his female lead nightclub singer, Annie Hall (played by Diane Keaton). Speaking of the film's box office collection, it made a respectable $38.3 million. The film received positive feedback from both fans and critics, ultimately winning four Oscars and five BAFTA Awards.

Later on down the line, Keaton secured another Oscar nomination for her incredible performance in Nancy Meyers' 2003 film 'Something’s Gotta Give.' The film follows Harry Sanborn (played by Jack Nicholson), an aging womanizer who falls for his much younger girlfriend’s mother, played by Keaton. The film was a big hit among fans, and it grossed $265 million worldwide against a budget of $80 million. Now, fans will get the opportunity to watch Keaton's beloved films on the big screens again.
