LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'House of the Dragon' Season 2 Episode 8 airs on Sunday, August 4, on HBO.

To heighten anticipation for the season finale, the creators have released a thrilling trailer. The teaser offers a glimpse of the dragon that has been hinted at throughout the season.

In Episode 7, the scales of war shifted in favor of the Blacks as they secured new Dragonriders, Ulf (Tom Bennett) and Hugh (Kieran Bew), who will ride the unclaimed dragons Silverwing and Vermithor, respectively.

Additionally, Addam of Hull (Clinton Liberty) acquired the dragon Seasmoke and allied himself with the Blacks.

This leaves Aemond Targaryen (Ewan Mitchell) and his dragon Vhagar as the Greens's sole fighting dragon and rider, as Sunfyre is injured and Helaena Targaryen (Phia Saban) is not in a mental state to fly her dragon Dreamfyre.

However, there is another dragon in their ranks that might still aid the Greens in the conflict.

Tessarion arrives to help the Greens in the war in 'House of the Dragon'

Aemond has a brother named Daeron Targaryen, who was sent to Oldtown to live with the Hightowers early in his life.

Daeron has been a topic of discussion throughout the show, and in the final moments of Episode 7, Aemond receives the news that Daeron's dragon, Tessarion, is now old enough to fly.

Daeron has been described as a young man who is notably kinder and more receptive to instructions than his brothers.

As the war between the Blacks and Greens intensifies, the allied Houses on both sides are also engaging in battles across various regions of the Seven Kingdoms.

According to 'Fire and Blood' by George RR Martin, Daeron makes his entrance into the war during the Battle of Honeywine.

At a critical moment, as Ormund Hightower is on the brink of defeat, Daeron and his dragon appear to turn the tide and secure victory. This pivotal sequence may be featured in the season finale.

Tessarion is a young dragon known for her striking blue coloration, earning her the name 'Blue Queen.'

Though she lacks extensive battle experience, Tessarion is bold and daring, much like her rider Daeron, and is not afraid to face even the largest dragons in combat.

According to 'Fire and Blood,' the fall of King's Landing is anticipated soon, likely in the final episode of the season, when Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D'Arcy) is expected to claim the Iron Throne.

Many believe that Daeron will emerge as her greatest threat. Tessarion and Daeron will go into battles at Tumbleton, where Ulf and Hugh are expected to side with the Greens and Daeron.

Tessarion will ultimately die in the Second Battle of Tumbleton, where Addam of Hull attacks the Greens. In the ensuing three-way battle, Tessarion, Seasmoke, and Vermithor will all die.

Tessarion will likely have a brief appearance in the show but will make a significant impact, especially in the third season, when he presents a formidable challenge to Rhaenyra.
