LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'House of the Dragon' Season 2 Episode 6 aired on HBO on July 21, 2024. The exciting episode saw some major developments as the Blacks tried to gain Dragonriders while the Greens strategized to capture Harrenhal.

'House of the Dragon' is now entering the final two episodes of its second season and some major developments are expected to take place in the next episodes setting up the rest of the show. The show is based on George R R Martin's 'Fire and Blood' and Episode 6 foreshadows a few events that would happen in the future of the show.

Aegon II Targaryen (Tom Glynn-Carney) is seriously injured after Rook's Rest and his body may never recover and reach a point where he can be a fierce competitor.

Larys Strong (Matthew Needham) who was born with a twisted foot gives him valuable advice about how people will underestimate him and if his brain works well, he can use his disability to his advantage.

This is the beginning of a union that will see Larys Strong and Aegon II Targaryen be close allies in the show. Larys will help Aegon escape the King's Landing when Rhaenyra takes over the Iron Throne. He will then help Aegon back to the top after Rhaenyra's death

Hugh the Hammer's selfishness

Hugh the Hammer (Kieran Bew) is a character introduced in the show in Season 2. His family is struggling with the lack of resources in the war and when Rhaenyra sends supplies to King's Landing, he selfishly attacks another one of the smallfolk and takes home his supplies.

This is a character trait that we will see a lot in the future as Hugh becomes one of the Dragonriders for Rhaenyra and rides Vermithor. After Rhaenyra takes King's Landing, Hugh betrays Rhaenyra in the first battle of Tumbleton.

In the book, he has a selfish lust for the Iron Throne after Vhagar's death as he claims he has the largest dragon in the seven kingdoms.

Alyn of Hull's Velaryon hair

Alyn of Hull's (Abubaker Salim) relationship with Corlys Velaryon (Steve Toussaint) has been teased in the first few episodes of the second season and the biggest hint about their relationship came in Episode 6.

Alyn was shown shaving his hair to hide his Velaryon hair from the rest of his mates on the ship. Alyn is speculated to be the illegitimate child of Corlys Velaryon and gets legitimized by Rhaenyra as a Velaryon later

Sheepstealer

Rhaena Targaryen (Phoebe Campbell) is in Vale where she finds the evidence of a large dragon and burnt sheep. The dragon here is Sheepstealer. In the books, the rider for the dragon is a woman called Nettles.

In the screen adaptation, Rhaena's character has replaced Nettles as Nettles has been combined into her character itself. She will be another dragon rider who helps Rhaenyra claim the Iron Throne.

Triarchy and Gullet

Ser Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans) has been missing in action for the past few episodes after being removed as the Hand of the King. In this episode, Aemond mentions the Triarchy as an option to challenge the blockade of Gullet.

This was a foreshadowing of the Battle of Gullet where Otto Hightower reaches out to the Triarchy who will smash the Blockade of Gullet and bring the Greens back in the war after King's Landing falls.
