Many social media users are circulating the conspiracy theory that Hillary Clinton is trying to become the next president by first bagging the VP spot

As Vice President Kamala Harris' public image as well as poll numbers continue to take a hit, following reports of in-fighting among her staff and her alleged fallout with the Bidens, a buzz on the social media suggests that the former first lady and ex-Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton might be gearing up to replace her. 

The rumors started following a bombshell report titled 'Exasperation and dysfunction: Inside Kamala Harris frustrating start as vice president,' where CNN revealed over the last weekend that there was a long list of grievances from the Harris camp which ranged from the VP feeling “sometimes forgotten," to “not being put in positions to lead,” and “the administration ought to be using her more.” “Many in the vice president’s circle fume that she’s not being adequately prepared or positioned, and instead is being sidelined,” CNN reported.

'Running out of favor with Biden team'

Fox News host Jesse Watters was among the first ones to claim that President Joe Biden may be considering removing Harris as vice president after he had heard 'whispers' of confirmation hearings in Congress from his sources. "Our Capitol Hill Correspondent Chad Pergram tells us he's been hearing whispers suggesting there could be some new high-profile confirmation hearings on the horizon in the House of Representatives," said Watters during the segment. "Why is this a big deal? Because the house does not confirm normal nominees. But it does confirm vice-presidential nominees. Does this have something to do with Kamala Harris? It's been no secret she's been running out of favor with the Biden team."

The rumor that Harris was on the verge of being fired was made worse by the White House revealing on Thursday, November 18, that her communications director Ashley Etienne is leaving the vice-president's office. Being the communications director, Etienne would have been in charge of Harris' press and PR image. "Ashley is a valued member of the Vice President’s team, who has worked tirelessly to advance the goals of this administration. She is leaving the office in December to pursue other opportunities," a White House official told Daily Mail. 

'Kamala is about to get booted, replaced by Hillary'

As soon as reports about the possibility of Harris leaving the Biden administration began doing rounds in social media, an increasing number of people began circulating the conspiracy theory of Hillary Clinton trying to become the president by first bagging the VP spot. "Imagine this scenario: Hillary replaces Kamala, Joe is 25th’ed (or croaks), Hillary becomes POTUS, Hillary appoints Obama as VP, all in an attempt to shelter them from prosecution," one of them said, while another noted, "Evil plan: Pelosi floats a possible action to remove Kamala as VP. Install Hillary as VP then declare Joe incompetent. Hillary slithers in…." A third added, "I’ve been working all day and I’m trying to catch up on what level of Jumanji we are currently on. Any truth to Kamala getting the boot and Hilary getting the VP spot or is it another conspiracy theory that would never happen started by white supremacists?"

The next remarked, "Kamala is about to get booted, replaced by Hillary. Then Hillary will 25th Joe. Hillary will become President and appoint Mike Obama as VP. 40 percent of Americans will actually celebrate this achievement and obvious corruption." One more said, "I wonder if the game plan is to move Hillary to VP and axe Kamala before Biden kneels over. And how hilariously bad of a move for the Dems that would be. It won’t be the iron curtain she thinks it would be." Another noted, "No provision in the US Constitution that states a President can simply replace the VP. The VP can be replaced by the 25th Amendment & gone, but that is hardly likely. Your fantasy, President’s Cabinet declares the 25th on Kamala, Hillary replaces and declares the 25th on Biden." 

A commenter tweeted, "So Biden gets 25'd. Kamala gets acting Potus, Pelosi is gonna retire so she can get serious about her drinking, who gets VP? Hillary??" One more commented, "Hillary replacing Kamala, and Biden getting amendment 25’ed. Putting Hillary in as President." Another pointed out, "How possible is it that Kamala is about to be replaced by Hillary and then replace Biden eventually?" A person reacted with, "How Hillary becomes President. The Democrat National Party tells Biden Kamala has to go. They give her a plum job as a Federal Judge. Biden nominates Hillary to replace Kamala. Democrats ram it through with help from Romney, Collins, and Murkowski. They 25th amendment Biden."
