A paraglider and another male hiker were also injured
According to a Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman, the paraglider was thrown back into the mountainside while he was jumping from a route called the Organ Pipes. The man, who was in his 50s, fractured his legs and sustained serious injuries to his head, chest, and spine. He was in critical condition when he was flown to the Royal Brisbane Hospital. "[It appears] he’s launched and was blown back by the wind and hit the mountain," she said.
In another instance, a male hiker fell ten meters into a gorge on March 25 around 4.45 pm, prompting emergency services to be dispatched to the mountain. The man, who was in his 20s, is thought to have fallen several meters while walking along the northern route, as per Daily Mail.
A helicopter from RACQ LifeFlight that had been sent to retrieve the woman's corpse was diverted to assist in hauling the hiker to safety. Before being strapped to a stretcher and hoisted into the helicopter, a paramedic was lowered down the precipice to address the man's dislocated shoulder. For medical attention, he was brought to the Sunshine Coast Hospital.
