LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In a recent profile for Esquire, Pedro Pascal opened up about his early days as an actor, when he was constantly auditioning in New York City and Los Angeles in the '90s and '00s. Pedro's longtime friend Sarah Paulson also spoke about their friendship and revealed some heartwarming details about their past. They have been close friends since they were both theater students in New York in the early '90s.

After a few small roles on TV shows like 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' and 'Touched by an Angel', Pedro returned to Chile when his mother passed away. He then moved back to New York and continued to audition for roles, often facing rejection. Sarah shared that during this time, she would lend a helping hand: "He's talked about this publicly but there were times when I would give him my per diem from a job I was working on so that he could have money to feed himself."

'She shouldn't be putting all his business out there'

Despite Paulson sharing heartwarming stories about her friendship with Pascal, some social media users were critical of her revealing details about his personal life. One Instagram user wrote, "Me outing my friend after not replying to my messages," while another added, "She shouldn't be putting all his business out there, that's so wrong." A third person expressed similar sentiments, saying, "Maybe I'm over exaggerating and being over the top, but her giving this information feels wrong. Like I would never do that to someone I consider a friend. That's their story to tell, idk." Despite the criticism, it's clear that Sarah and Pedro share a deep and longstanding bond that has sustained them throughout their respective careers in Hollywood.

Pascal's success and impressive lineup

Paulson is not just content with her bestie Pascal's successful acting career. In fact, she hopes that he will become the next big thing in Hollywood and even star in classic romantic comedies and action films. "You just want him to succeed," Sarah said. "And that to me, I feel like, is the sign of a major movie star. I’m ready for him to take the reins from the guys from romantic comedies past, like Bruce Willis and Mel Gibson and all these guys. He can be all that. Let’s remake Die Hard with Pedro. Remake all the Lethal Weapon movies with Pedro."

Pascal is riding high on a wave of success following his acclaimed performances in 'The Last of Us' and 'The Mandalorian'. His next major release is a short film, 'Strange Way of Life', directed by veteran filmmaker Pedro Almodovar and co-starring Ethan Hawke, followed by 'Freaky Tales', directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck of 'Captain Marvel' fame. Additionally, Pascal will appear in 'Tropico' alongside Willem Dafoe and Morena Baccarin, as well as 'The Uninvited', a comedy about a stranger crashing a party. While rumors persist about his involvement in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there has been no official confirmation. As Pascal's star continues to rise, he remains humble and focused on his craft. "I just want to work and be challenged and learn from people who are smarter than me," he said in a recent interview. "I want to tell stories that matter and hopefully have an impact on people."
