Gwyneth Paltrow's secret whisper to Terry Sanderson after Utah ski trial verdict revealed
PARK CITY, UTAH: Gwyneth Paltrow showed no animosity toward the man who sued her over a 2016 skiing accident, saying she was not liable in a lawsuit against her. As she left the courtroom in Park City, Utah, footage showed her whispering to retired optometrist Terry Sanderson, who had sued her.
Sanderson later told reporters outside that Paltrow had said to him, "I wish you well." He thanked her and told her it was "very kind of her." Asked if he believed Paltrow was lying, Sanderson replied, "I believe she thinks she has the truth... but I absolutely know I said I would not bring any falsehoods."

Paltrow previously shared a statement on her Instagram Story after the jury found Sanderson "100 per cent" at fault in the collision following three hours of deliberation, awarding her the requested $1 and legal fees. "I felt that acquiescing to a false claim compromised my integrity," wrote Paltrow. "I am pleased with the outcome and I appreciate all of the hard work of Judge Holmberg and the jury, and thank them for their thoughtfulness in handling this case," she added.
In response to being found not liable in Terry Sanderson's lawsuit, Gwyneth Paltrow wrote, "I felt that acquiescing to a false claim compromised my integrity. What did the lawsuit against Gwyneth Paltrow claim?
In 2019, Terry Sanderson sued Gwyneth Paltrow for allegedly colliding with him from behind while skiing on a beginner slope at Deer Valley Resort with a ski instructor who he said filed a false report claiming Paltrow did not cause the accident. Sanderson described the incident as "a "hit-and-run ski crash" in which Paltrow allegedly "skied out of control and hit" him from behind," causing him "seriously injured." Sanderson sought damages in excess of $3.1 million, citing "permanent traumatic brain injury," four broken ribs, pain, suffering, loss of enjoyment of life, mental anguish and disfigurement.
Paltrow's representative said in the response, "This lawsuit is completely without merit. Anyone who reads the facts will realize that." Paltrow denied the allegations in a countersuit filed the following month, claiming that Sanderson was actually the one who hit her from behind and was now attempting to "exploit her celebrity and wealth." Her countersuit alleged that Sanderson had "apologized" for the accident at the time and that the ski instructor, Eric Christiansen, recorded Sanderson in the initial incident report, stating that "he had not seen Ms. Paltrow."
