Hengjian Ni: Man, 39, arrested for brutally stabbing Philadelphia woman and her sons
A 39-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a mother and her two sons in Mayfair, Philadelphia, on Sunday afternoon, March 6. The brutal incident took place on the 3200 block of Knorr Street around 2 pm. The assaulter, Hengjian Ni, who hails from New York, has been charged with three cases of homicide, attempt to rape, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and other related offenses.
The victims have suffered multiple wounds throughout their bodies and are admitted to Frankford-Torresdale hospital in a critical situation. The 15-year-old boy has two knife wounds, one on the back and one on the head, while the the10-year-old has stab wounds on the back of his head and on his left leg. Both of them are now in stable condition. According to the victim’s neighbors, the boys were stabbed while they were trying to save their mom from getting raped.

A neighbor of the mother told CBS Philadelphia, "I didn't know what he was going to do, if he was going to try to attack them again." "So I said, 'Run, run, run, inside my house.' So we all ran inside my basement."
The witness described the assaulter as carrying a backpack on his shoulders and walking away like nothing happened, leaving the victim battling for her life. "He just turned around, he looked at us, and just casually walked away," the neighbor said.
According to the portal, the two children told the witnesses that the man stabbed their mom following her outside. They also claimed that the victim and the assaulter were co-workers.
The neighbor called 911 soon after the kids asked her to check on the victim. "I just called out and said, 'Ma'am, ma'am, ma'am.' And she came stumbling down the steps," the neighbor said.
The assaulter turned himself to the police two hours after the incident, however, the motive behind the crime is not known yet.
Post the brutal attack, Philadelphia police confirmed that they have witnessed a 3.7% increase in violent crime in the city.
